When I was in elementary school, every day after school I would go to my grandparent’s house. When I got there I would watch The Oprah Winfrey Show with my grandma and eat a snack. I learned so much from watching Oprah as a kid and I admired her for her extreme kindness. After her talk stopped airing, she continued her successful career an actress, a producer, a philanthropist, and an entrepreneur.
Although Oprah now has her own network, I will always miss being able to watch her talk show every afternoon.
There too many reasons why I loved The Oprah Winfrey Show show to count, but here are 6 reasons that I am going to share with you!
1. She is kind and caring
Oprah always showed great empathy towards her audience and the guest that she had on her show. For viewers watching the talk show, it was apparent that Oprah truly cared about the people she was interviewing and about the individual stories that they had to tell.
2. She was easy to talk and was able to get the information that everyone wanted to know
Throughout her 25 seasons on the air, she gained the respect of her viewers. Oprah did not simply rely on gossip and tabloids to get views and to obtain popularity. She was able to create a space on television to share her guests' real stories and share with her audience the answers to the questions that people were dying to know.
3. She highlighted and brought attention to important issues
The Oprah Winfrey Show was more than just a talk show that talked about celebrities, it was educational. She was able to address a variety of important topics on her show and share them with a large audience.
4. She opened up about her struggles and her own life experiences
Oprah even talked about what she was experiencing in her own life, which allowed people to really connect with as a person. For example, she discussed her own weight loss journey and also finding out about a sister she never knew she had.
5. She gave back
Not only did Oprah occasionally give away cars and other fun gifts to her audience, she had other charities for girls education in South Africa and Hurricane Katrina relief.
6. She knew how to have fun
Last but not least, Oprah's enthusiasm and heart made her show fun to watch!
