I've had dogs all my life and I don't think that there could ever be a moment where I do not own one. They have brought me so much joy and love. So, if you're on the fence about what pet to get or just want to reiterate your point about how great dogs are, I am here to tell you why you won't regret ever owning a dog.

1. A dog is the best listener

You can tell a dog just about anything. They will always listen to you, no matter what the situation is. Whatever it is, they'll stick around to hear it. No, they won't understand what you're saying or give you advice, but they will be just as happy to listen to the sound of your voice.

2. A dog is the best cuddle buddy

More often than not, a dog will be more than happy to curl up next to you for hours on end. There is hardly anything more relaxing than laying next to your dog. Their soft fur will have you holding them close for as long as possible.

3. Dogs are quite intelligent

Dogs are one of the smartest creatures on this Earth and can learn so many different tricks. Teaching your dog fun activities such as frisbee, fetch, jumping over fence courses, and life-saving abilities such as service dogs is so rewarding. Service dogs do so much for the blind, deaf, epileptic, diabetic, and more. They are much more than just companion animals for many people.

4. A dog will go on endless adventures with you

Your doggo will want to go with you everywhere! Whether it be down the street, the local park, or on a road trip, they will be so excited to go anywhere as long as it's with you. They can be your hiking buddy, beach buddy, or city buddy - whatever it is you want to do, they'll be there with you.

5. A dog can help with mental and physical health

Dogs are great therapy animals and the most popular choice. Their loving and affectionate nature make them ideal for being a therapy animal. Exercising with your dog is another great way of keeping up with your physical health, like taking walks or playing in the park.

6. A dog can come in every shape, size, and color

Dogs come in all shapes and sizes and colors, so it's easy to take your pick of which kind you would want. But no matter how big or small, they are always adorable. Their floppy ears, goofy smiles, and sweet eyes are what makes them so precious.

Overall, a dog is a wonderful animal to have and will keep you happy for years. They will fill you with endless love and laughter, always reminding you how lucky you are to have them in your life.

If my list hasn't already convinced you to buy 10 dogs, look up pictures of dogs; that will really do the trick.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
