After a long day of whatever you did today, only your favorite drink will do. Yet, as of late your drink of choice doesn't seem to taste as good anymore. Try some of these wonderful drinks to grow your knowledge of alcohol and maybe find a brand new favorite drink.

1. Beer

Probably the most common drink of choice for most, beer has grown since the days of yore. As most people may gravitate towards the more basic of lagers, I would encourage you to try some stouts, IPA's or even some wheat beers.

Finding a beer you love may take some time, so I suggest going to your local grocery store that will allow you to buy 'pick six' packs. This way you can try out many different types, and find one you love.

2. Red Wine

After making fun of wine for years, I have now come to love the flavors found within.

For those that have never had red wine (or only drink Moscato) I suggest getting a Merlot. This red wine is very simple and can go with almost any occasion. Sometimes a little dry, this drink also traditionally have strong plum and other dark fruit notes.

3. Bourbon

When the light stuff just won't cut it, (or you've already had a few beers) try a nice Bourbon.

On the lighter and sometimes sweeter side of whiskey, Bourbon is a nice entry drink to the world of whiskey. Don't worry about the burn on your tongue, your body will get used to it. Grab a bottle of Bullet Bourbon and enjoy a nice hearty dinner.

4. Margarita

A favorite drink of Jimmy Buffet, one sip and you will know why. A margarita is a drink for a hot spring day.

A must have for this drink is good tequila. Spend all your money on the tequila and the mix won't matter. Also a fun tip is not to blend up your ice, instead try this drink with ice cubes. If you are going to buy the good stuff, don't water it down.

5. Cuba Libre

Also known as a rum and coke, the Cuba Libre is a drink that can liven any day. Just make sure you don't skip the lime. The acid from the lime adds a fruitiness to this drink that will take it to the next level.

Curl up with your favorite book and enjoy this one while it's cold.

6. Irish/Scottish Single Malt

This is a drink for the people that live in a log cabin and spend their days by fireside. These drinks are smoked to death. Like drinking a full log of hickory. If you want to feel like a beaver, give these a try!

In all honesty, Scottish single malts are some of my favorite drinks on the planet. It defiantly takes a bit to get used to, but the overall satisfaction of a 12 year old scotch can put the worst of people in a good mood.

If you've gotten this far and haven't found something you liked, you either didn't actually look, or you don't like alcohol. Maybe stick to water bud.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
