5 Tips For Living A Healthier, Happier Lifestyle

1. Meal Prep Meal Prep Meal Prep

Meal prepping does require a little bit of effort, but it is so worth it! Prior to being on this required freshman meal plan, I did my meal prep every Sunday. You can either plan what meals you want to cook for each day of the week and make Sunday your grocery day or you can cook your meals for the week and seal them up in containers in the fridge or freezer. I get almost all of my ideas for meal prep on Pinterest!

2. Cut back on that meat and dairy intake honey

I was vegan for 2 years and no it was not always easy - the cravings for queso sometimes got the best of me - but it was totally worth it. I felt healthier and it showed too, eating more greens and healthy foods is super good for your skin and so is the cut back of dairy (which also causes bloating). When I say vegan I don't mean eat all the Oreos, spicy sweet chili Doritos, and junky "dairy-free" desserts you can. I mean cut back on that and eat your fruits and veggies, but make sure to get your protein in! I also use Pinterest for most of my vegan meal and snack ideas!

3. Eat Colorfully

I used to be very picky.. I mean chicken tenders and fries only kind of picky. I learned that if I make my plate pretty I was able to eat more new and delicious things, like avocado, colorful veggies, buddha bowls, smoothie bowls, coconut, etc! I was able to eat better and also get a good pic for the social media foodies (am I right).

4. Set Goals

Whether it is getting up for an early morning jog, sticking to a sleeping schedule, or creating a die-hard gym workout schedule - you will see results from writing down your goals and sticking to them.

5. For my coffee addicts - learn to love black coffee

Drinking black coffee to fuel your addiction is a lot better than loading up your coffee with cream and sugar. If you make a good cup then you will learn to love the pure flavor of black coffee. Sometimes on the weekend or in the evening I treat myself by adding a little honey and dairy-free creamer to my cup of coffee! I promise it is so worth it because drinking 3 or more cups of coffee loaded with sugar can hurt you in the end, plus there is something spectacular about the raw flavor of a good blend of coffee.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
