The sophomore season of Netflix/MCU series Jessica Jones is set to drop Thursday, March 8th on the streaming platform. Season one debuted in Fall 2015, so it’s been a while. If you can’t be bothered to rewatch season one, here’s what you need to know before delving into the new episodes:

1. Kilgrave’s Dead

David Tennant gave a masterful (albeit creepy) performance as Kilgrave—Jessica’s criminally persuasive ex-captor and the main antagonist of season one. He gave us all a good fright, yes. However, he’s dead now. Pictures taken from the set of season two suggest we will see Kilgrave again, although probably only in Jessica’s psyche. (Which brings me to my next point…)

2. Jessica Jones is a survivor.

Krysten Ritter did a splendid job of portraying Jessica as a rattled-and-repressed, semi-alcoholic (it does take more for her to actually get drunk), sexual assault survivor. Season one didn’t shy away from the fact that Kilgrave’s particular power erases the option of consent and, thus, any sexual relations Jessica had with him were rape. The psychological and emotional trauma of Jessica’s time with Kilgrave are sure to flare up in season two.

3. Are Jessica and Luke still a thing? Who knows.

Jessica Jones and Luke Cage are a staple of the Marvel comics. In fact, the two are married with a child in the comics. However, in the MCU, things are a bit more complicated. Mike Colter’s Luke Cage is currently dating Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple (and they are cute as cute can be). Jessica last saw Luke in The Defenders (2017), where they worked together to defeat The Hand. There was more than a smidgen of camaraderie and sexual tension then, so keep your eyes peeled during season two of JJ.

4. Speaking of ships… Could Jessica and Trish be a thing?

A significant portion of the Jessica Jones fandom is keeping their fingers crossed for an unlikely romance between Jessica, and her best friend, Trish Walker. While there have been signs there could be more than friendship between these two (ex. a particular conversation between Trish and Karen Page in The Defenders), Trish isJessica’s adopted sister. That said—you never know.

5. Jessica knows about Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage

If you haven’t been keeping with with the Netflix MCU, you might not be aware that Jessica has thrown down with some of New York’s other superheroes. Although it’s not canon: she probably has Matt’s phone number. She definitely has Luke’s. And Jessica probably wouldn’t be apposed to showing up at Rand Industries for a favor. Hopefully season two will give us a glimpse of Jessica interacting with some of the other powerful people in her city.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
