5 Underrated Summer Things

When the Summer rolls around, everyone wonders what they should do with their time. Some choose to work everyday, others choose to live their summer up to it's fullest extent, and others just go with the flow. If you're ever in a situation where you don't know what to do with your time, here's a couple of cool ideas.

1. Sit outside

More time out of the year than not is spent inside. When the colder months roll around, you can't wait until summer so you can spend time not cooped up inside, however we usually forget that when Spring/Summer roll around.

Take a walk, a jog, just sit on your porch, take some time out of your day to just take a breather and enjoy the outdoors.

2. Hit up the beach

If you're anything like me, you've been doing this even when it was snowing outside (perks of being a Long Islander). However, now you can go and actually leave your car and catch some rays, work on that tan and all.

Even if you don't like the ocean I believe you should go to the beach anyway. Why? Beach= great summer vibes.

3. Go on an adventure

During the summer, you have the freedom to do as you please. Go on an adventure, try something new. You don't have to plan everything you do three weeks ahead of time. Sometimes it's good to just go wherever the wind may take you.

4. Find the "pretty" spots

This is not limited to just places. Finding the "pretty" spots is to find the insta worthy spots. Sunsets, cool foods, fun times, all that good stuff.

5. Take time to breathe

We often forget throughout the year to take a step back and relax. If you're in school, exams and other school-like drama often eat away at you and stress you out more than you'd like to admit. If you're working full time in the summer yes that too is stressful, but take a breather from constantly being tested on your knowledge of material while you can.

People forget that the summer doesn't have to be about the big things, or the little things, it can be about anything. That's the beauty of summer, you don't have to have a set plan.

Take a step back, and enjoy everyth9ng.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
