Despite cold weather in the Midwest, summer is slowly arriving. Along with summer comes the many summer music festivals. A huge part of going to a festival is finding the perfect outfit. From glitter, crop tops, and jeans shorts, at a festival anything goes. Here are some outfit essentials and life hacks to make your festival experience one to remember.

1. Face and body jewels

At any festival, you'll see an excess of glitter and jewels. From your face to your body, there's a surplus of ways to add some glitz to your outfit. GoGetGlitter makes applying jewels 100x easier for any concert goer. Gone are the times of spending two hours putting on jewels only for them to fall off hours after. Simply pull the pre-made jewel design off the paper and you're good to go.

2. Headwear

At a festival you can stray from flowers and hats for something more unique. This tiara from Dolls Kill adds some sparkle and elegance to any festival outfit. Dolls Kill also has a great range of light-up headbands and flower crowns so you stand out in the crowd when the sun goes down.

3. Swimsuits

In a huge crowd of people at a festival, you're bound to get sweaty. With unpredictable weather during the summer, you don't want to ruin your favorite crop top. However, with a swimsuit top as a shirt, you won't have to worry if you get sweaty or if it rains because swimsuits are made for that! Not only that, but you don't have to wear a bra with a swimsuit so its a win-win. Forever21 has cute and cheap swimsuit tops that can double as a cute crop top.

4. Phone Pocket

It's no secret that at a music festival, theft happens. People are constantly getting their wallets and phones stolen. However, by utilizing a phone pocket like this one from Forever21, you can easily keep your ID, debit card, and some cash with your phone. This eliminates the possibility of having your wallet stolen, however, this also means you have to keep track of your phone. During a concert, I like to keep my phone in my hand or in a deep front pocket of my jeans or shorts.

5. Hydration pack

In a huge crowd of people, it's hard to push your way through to a water station. Not to mention waiting in line at the water station. This is why a hydration backpack is essential. You need to stay hydrated during a festival and you don't want to have to carry around a water bottle the whole concert. There are some that are more fashion friendly, but this one is cheap and convenient.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
