It’s no secret that corgis are well loved dogs. I mean, how could you not love something so adorable? As a person who can proudly call a corgi a member of my family, I know that corgis have their own quirks that make them such unique dogs. Here are five things that all corgi owners know to be true.

1. The sploot

The sploot is a signature corgi move, and it proudly displays their momos (aka their butts) and stumpy legs. If you own a corgi, you know you can find them splooting any time of day, as long as they aren't begging for a tummy rub, that is.

2. They shed. A lot.

Have you ever heard the saying, “corgis shed enough to make another corgi”? Well it is absolutely true! When you live with a corgi, you resign yourself to the fact that you’re going to be covered with dog hair all day, every day. You will also definitely get your money’s worth out of your vacuum.

3. Corgis bark at everything

Corgis might be short, but they have the bark of a dog many times their size. And they aren’t afraid to make their voice heard, either. Is there a questionable sound? Bark at it. Did someone get excited while watching TV? Better bark at that too.

4. They are fond of herding you around

Corgis were originally bred to herd livestock, and even if they live in a house, the instinct remains. So corgi owners always know that they will be frequently checked on by a dog who wants to know exactly where you are. You might even get an impatient look or a nip at your heels if you aren’t following the rules.

5. Corgis are just as adorable and fun as everyone thinks they are

From their stumpers to their wiggly butts, every inch of a corgi is pure happiness and cuteness. When a corgi is part of your family, you’ve got a cuddle buddy, a bundle of fun and energy, and a loyal friend for life, all wrapped up in one.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
