It’s a month into the new year and there are people all over who are hard at work on their resolutions! One of the most common resolutions is to eat healthier and lose weight, so, of course, it’s natural that the Girl Scouts cookie season starts.
As someone who’s been in a baking mood lately, I guess I could bake my own cookies to enjoy… But let’s be real, there ain’t no way in hell I can recreate something as scrumptious as Tagalongs® or Thin Mints®. I’m gonna be buying some (more like many) of those damn things.
(Also a side note, will the Girl Scouts send a hitman out on me if I don’t include the “®” in the cookie names?)
Anyway, I’ve been looking into ways to satisfy the feeling of baking while also using those tasty treats. I have compiled a list of recipes to try that highlight various kinds of Girl Scouts cookies! Of course, you could use the list on the actual Girl Scouts website, but I feel we already give them enough with using the cookies; we don’t need to give their websites extra traffic too.
1. Thin Mints® Truffles.
This recipe from SixSistersStuff.com uses one of my favorite cookies from the GS and makes it even more unhealthy! Hell yeah.
2. No-Bake Samoas® Pie.
Yeah, I know I said I wanted to bake and this clearly says "No-bake," but it looks too good not to do. This comes from Paige Grandjean of MyRecipes.com.
3. Tagalongs® Cake Bars.
You know how I said Thin Mints were one of my favorite cookies? Yeah, well Tagalongs are my absolute favorite. Pretty much anything involving them I'll love. This recipe comes from Amanda of kevinandamanda.com.
4. Trefoils® Magic Bars.
Maybe the magic of this recipe is turning the blandest Girl Scout cookie into something amazing. Trefoils® aren't my favorite cookie, but this makes it look amazing. This comes from Erika Beth of LifesTooShortYoSkipDessert.blogspot.com.
5. Thin Mints® Brownies.
I had to do another one using Thin Mints as it seems to just be such an iconic cookie for them. This one turns them into a brownie that looks all too heavenly for the amount of sweet that is within. This recipe comes from CountryCleaver.com.
Honestly, I think the hardest part of these and any other recipe using Girl Scout cookies is not eating all them before you get to the cooking part.
