While music is great to listen to on your walks between classes or on your way to the gym, even the dining hall, you know what would be even better? Something that challenged your mind, fed your brain!

A podcast.

Yes, podcasts are in the uprising again with new and exciting ones discussing all sorts of things ranging from "Why is the world the way it is?" to "My cat meowed at me, what does it mean?" There is a podcast for everything.

But for college students, here are five you should already be listening to:

1. Call Your Girlfriend


About once a week, Aminatou Sow and Ann Friedman, long-distance best friends, discuss wide topics from worldly problems to Kylie's baby video.

2. Stuff Mom Never Told You


Two episodes a week, Emilie Aries and Bridget Todd discuss anything from babies to history. Their research-driven discussion brings in an audience of all kinds, it is a must listen to.

3. The Read

Join Kid Fury and Crissle on their weekly podcast discussing hip-hop and pop culture. I mean, who wouldn't want to hear what was the latest in this genre?

4. Girl Boss Radio


With host Sophia Amoruso, this podcast is all about bettering the odds of making a girl, a girl boss. From being bada** to dealing with the struggles of being a girl every day. This podcast is a must for ALL college students but especially for girl students. The future is female!

5. Tiny Leaps, Big Changes

Just by the name, I bet you can guess what this is about. A self-help podcast that discusses how people live their lives and how they behave which leads to the actions that we take.

Sure, music will always be great, but podcasts are the future!
