A lot of good movies came out this year, and if you are like me, you might not have the time or budget to go see them all. So I have made a list of my favorite five films that came out this year to narrow it down for you. Have fun binge-watching, and just in time for the holidays! My list, in no particular order...

1. "Baby Driver" (dir. Edgar Wright).

Summary: "Baby Driver" follows an incredible getaway driver (played by Ansel Elgort) who relies on the beat of his music to help him drive. After paying off a depth and meeting the girl of his dreams, he plans to make a clean getaway, although it's easier said than done.

2. "Dunkirk" (dir. Christopher Nolan).

Summary: In May 1940, Germany invaded France and trapped allied troops on the beaches of Dunkirk. In this film, you get to see the experiences of three different people: a mole within the span of a week, someone on a boat during a day, and someone in the air for only an hour. The soundtrack and the overall ambiance of this film are captivating; this is a must-see.

3. "Wonder Woman" (dir. Patty Jenkins).

Summary: Diana was raised to become a warrior and princess on a sheltered island in the Amazons. The fate of the world is threatened and Diana takes it upon herself to save it. Fighting side-by-side with men in the middle of a brutal war, Diana learns more about herself than she ever thought she would.

4. "Get Out" (dir. Jordan Peel).

Summary: Chris and his girlfriend, Rose, have reached a point in their relationship — time to meet the parents. While staying with them for a weekend up-state, strange things start to happen, and it all comes back to one thing: this family. This film really surprised me, highly recommend!

5. The Big Sick (dir. Michael Showalter).

Summary: Kumail is a Pakistani comedian who meets Emily at one of his stand-up shows. Their unexpected relationship gets more serious than either of them thought and Kumail starts to get concerned about what his very traditional Muslim parents will think of their relationship. I don't want to summarize too much here because I don't want to give too much away, but you should really see this film. There are so many elements involved in this movie that will make you laugh, cry, and cringe.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
