Valentine's Day is lame.

I mean, I'm not one of those grumpy single people who hate Valentine's Day. I just always found it as a lame holiday. If I love someone, I'm gonna show them the other 364 days a year, not just one.

So, this year, it's GALentine's Day. It's all about me and my single gal pals. Just because we're single, doesn't mean we can't celebrate the 14th with all the couples out there.

1. Dessert Party

Everyone grab your favorite dessert and head to someone's house. Get your favorite wine and just go in. Who needs dinner? It's Galentine's Day! Dessert is dinner today.

2. Out to Dinner

Go ahead, go your favorite restaurant with all the other couples out there. Hey, you deserve it as much as they do. Go to a BYOB or your favorite Mexican place for margaritas. I heard Applebee's is having $1 Bahama Mama's; sounds like a good move to me.

3. Go to the Movies

This is a good chance to just relax. You don't have to dress up or look decent. You can wear sweats, bring a blanket and just be comfy. Eat all the popcorn and candy you want; you really do deserve it.

4. Order Takeout

Again, you can wear comfy clothes. You can lay on the couch. You can watch whatever you want on TV. You can just do whatever and hang out and talk. Honestly, what's better than that?

5. Get Drunk

Who cares if it's a Wednesday night? Call an Uber and head to your favorite bar. You'll have the best time with your friends. You may regret it tomorrow, but you only live once, right?

So all my single girls out there, keep doing you. Go out this Galentine's Day with all your single gal pals. You guys deserve it. We all deserve it.

After all, "It's only the best day of the year!"

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
