In honor of Halloween, let’s take a step back and talk about candy. Specifically, what 5 types of your friends would be as candies.
1. The Funny One: Laffy Taffy
No matter what kind of mood you’re in, they can always make you laugh. Somehow, everything they say either is hilarious or just comes out in a hilarious way. You could have just failed a test, missed your favorite lunch and gotten stuck in the pouring rain-all at once-and this friend could still make you laugh. Of course, what other candy could they be except for the very one with “laugh” in its name?
2. The Daredevil: Snickers
This is the kind of person who used to always choose “dare” during those 7th-grade sleepovers. Now, this is the friend who says “yes” to every party, “yes” to every (dumb,) last minute idea any you suggest, and “yes” to every drink they’re offered. With this friend, you know you will start with an adventure and end with a story. It makes sense to label this one as Snickers, because just as this chocolate bar contains nuts, this friend as well, sort of nuts.
3. The “Mom”: Twix
Just like Mary Poppins, this friend is somehow prepared for every situation. They always have exactly the perfect amount of snacks to share, know the right advice to give (even if you don’t want to hear it,) and will always text you to see how you’re doing if they feel something is wrong. Just like the sweet stickiness of the caramel signature of Twix, this friend is sweet and comforting and will always stick by your side.
4. The Smart One: Smarties
You never cease to be amazed by how this friend can ace every test without even studying. Nothing seems to make this friend nervous, as they are always organized, rational, and confident. Sometimes, how smart this friend is can get on your nerves, and just like Smarties, the fact that they're always right can be a little hard to digest. But, you still love this friend and again, just like Smarties, you'll always keep coming back for more.
5. The Best Friend: Reese's
This one is a no-brainer. Just like the perfect mix of peanut butter and chocolate, you and your best friend are the perfect combinations. You not only complement each other, but you truly bring out the best in one another. Nothing can compare to this dynamic duo. Other candies (and friends) are great and all, but you know that at the end of the day, this one will always be your top choice.
