Audrey Hepburn is hands down one of the greatest humans ever to live. Her grace and poise paired with her cute and spunky personality made her the successful model and actress that she was. Although the 50’s and 60’s have passed, Audrey’s shared many words of wisdom throughout the years. For the girl who may be needing some motivation, happiness, or simple reminders that you are enough, be inspired by these five profound quotes from the inside-and-out beautiful and insightful Audrey Hepburn.

1. “The most important thing is to enjoy your life – to be happy – it’s all that matters.”

School may have you down. Your life may be in complete shambles. Things may not be going your way. Whatever the case may be, it’s okay. That stuff happens. What matters now is that you tell yourself that you can be happy, and you will be happy. Have lunch with a friend, take a quick nap, or get your favorite drink from Starbucks and know that you don’t need to have it all together, but you can still find happiness around you if you look hard enough.

2. “The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mode but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.”

Unfortunately, it’s very common for women to become sad or negative towards themselves when they aren’t happy with their appearances. Honestly, there are days when I don’t look my “best” and that sometimes affects the way I act. Remember that looks may be important to an extent (at least keeping up with proper hygiene), but you are still YOU. That is something that will never change.

3. “Let’s face it, a nice creamy chocolate cake does a lot for a lot of people; it does for me.”

Sometimes you need to #treatyourself and you shouldn’t feel bad about it. We all have different things that bring us all comfort. For me, it’s chocolate chip cookies and iced vanilla lattes. Whatever that may be for you, it’s okay to splurge, and you probably should. I promise you’ll feel a whole lot better afterwards.

4. “The best thing to hold onto in life is each other.”

It is so easy in our fast-paced world we live in to be too focused on ourselves and forget to build and strengthen relationships we have. Never take anyone for granted, because you don’t know what will happen later today, tomorrow, or years from now. Humans experience hardships, but humans also help others throughout those hardships. All it takes is one other person to get you through the day.

5. “I’ve been lucky. Opportunities don’t often come along. So, when they do, you have to grab them.”

We can all name a person who seems to just get everything. Everything works out for them, and good things seem to the way to this person. This appears to be true, but I can promise you that this person is thinking the same thing about someone else who also seems to have it all. Block those negative thoughts from your head, because those thoughts may be hurting your chances of noticing opportunities that present themselves to you. It may not be the dream job that you have been pining over, but one thing can lead to another. Take chances because honestly, yolo.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
