A first date can be a wonderful time of butterflies and sparks. Or, it can be the opposite. Either way, it's an exciting time to get to know someone new - and to get a little crazy before you do go on the much anticipated first date.

1. Stalking.

This may be a journey you take alone, or with a friend sitting next to you among your many different outfit choices. You want to make sure he still looks like you remember, but you're also scrolling so far and for so long that you're finding pictures of his family trip in 2010 and pictures of him going into middle school. You're hoping you don't accidentally like anything or say anything about it on your date.

2. Overthinking Outfits

The perfect first date outfit takes a lot of perfecting. Sometimes too much perfecting. Every item of clothing you own becomes a statement. One dress makes you look too unavailable, while another makes you look too available. There's a point in overthinking your outfit when you've spent so much time looking at your closet that suddenly everything becomes unwearable.

3. Overthinking Everything

What if he's boring? What if I'm boring? What if he's crazy? What if he figures out I'm crazy?

4. Planning An Escape Route

In case he is crazy, you'll send a quick text to a friend and get bailed out with an "emergency".

5. Texting Friends

Just in case he ends up being an ax-murderer.
