I'm sure all of us out there have seen at least one episode of Friends, but there are a few that, in my opinion, everyone needs to see. I have been a Friends fan for quite some time now and I can say with certainty that I have seen every episode of Friends at least four times. Because of this, I can tell you which episodes are the most iconic and why. When I started thinking about episodes that everyone needs to see, I thought of tons but narrowed it down to five. So buckle up, fire up Netflix, and get ready to binge.
The One Where It All Began
There is no better place to start than this: the pilot. This is the episode where it all began, we meet the characters, Rachel moves in with Monica, and we even get a sneak peek at the history between Rachel and Ross. This episode is a must watch because it is where it all began.
The One With The Football
With Thanksgiving coming up I felt as if I needed to include one of the many Thanksgiving episodes. This episode is by far my favorite Thanksgiving episode. The gang decides to go to the park and play football while the Thanksgiving dinner is cooking. Rachel, Chandler, Phoebe, and Joey find out about the Geller Cup. Along with that, Chandler and Joey fight over a lady at the park which leads to tension between the two.
The One With The Cop
PIVOT! This is the episode with the iconic couch scene. Rachel, Chandler, and Ross are trying to move Ross into his new apartment and are struggling to get the couch up the stairs. This leads to Ross screaming "PIVOT!" many, many times. Also in this episode, Phoebe finds a police badge in the park and pretends to be an officer. This leads to her meeting one of her many boyfriends.
The One With Phoebe's Wedding
As you can tell by the title of the episode, this is the episode where Phoebe finally gets married! While this isn't a funny or fun episode, it is one of the most heartfelt episodes of them all. You see how much Phoebe cares about her fiancé and how much Phoebe's friends care about her. It is one of the truest episodes of them all.
The Last One
Finally, the finale (which is technically two episodes but it's fine). Now, I can't say much about this one because I don't want to spoil it, but what I can say is, everyone's dreams come true in these final two episodes. If you can only watch one, watch this one. If you want the full experience, you need to watch the whole series.
