One of my guilty pleasures would definitely be Lifetime movies and TV shows. Something about that channels pulls me in because they often have content that's based on murder mysteries or something that goes against cultural and societal norms. Recently I've discovered a few shows that might peek the interest for some.
1. Married at First Sight
This show follows 6 people who have carefully been matched up by therapists, marriage counselors, and sociologists and have agreed to legally be married before even getting to know one another. Crazy right? The show basically follows their journey to see how they interact and cooperate with their new spouse.
2. Devious Maids
Oh yes, it’s exactly what you think it is. Maids that work for elite families dishing all the dirty secrets? You bet.
3. The Lizzie Borden Chronicles
We all have a guilty pleasure of watching murder mysteries right? This series, however, is a fictionalized account of the events that took place after her involvement in the murder. But still, it will keep you on the edge of your seat.
3. Dance Moms
As someone who danced growing up, I was instantly drawn to this show. But Abby hollering and drama between the parents made it that much more entertaining. A guilty pleasure of course.
4. Living with the Enemy
This is almost similar to Wife Swap, where two families with different daily lives switch their wives. In this series, entire families live and work with one another, each living in each other’s homes for four days. Of course, they pair these families based on their opposing views on controversial topics.
While these might not be everyone's cup of tea, it doesn't hurt to try them out while waiting for the show you're binge-watching on Netflix to release its newest season or if you just want something new to shake up your TV watching routine.
