If you haven't heard of at least one of these bands, you should have. Some of them have had a song or two on the radio and a few are slightly more obscure, but all of them make music that has been meticulously crafted in every detail, from the guitar riffs to the vocals to the beat. For all those times when you're bored with what you're listening to or just need to hear something new, don't post a pleading status to Facebook. Instead, get lost in one of these bands:
1. The Maine
These five guys are probably the most well-known of all the bands on this list (they have over 800,000 likes on their Facebook page and 220,000 Twitter followers), and even have massive followings in other countries such as Brazil and the Philippines. When they're not on the Vans Warped Tour or making new music, they still play intimate venues and meet fans after shows. Their lead singer, John O'Callaghan, is a bit philosophical (as any great lyricist is), and put out a video that basically puts everything into perspective. They started out as a pop-punk band and have grown into a generally upbeat, unique alt-rock sound.

2. The Struts
An English rock band formed in 2010, their appearance bears an eerie resemblance to the fictional band Sidarthur from "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen." Okay, so maybe it's just the hair, but still. Their appearance is straight out of the 80s, and their music isn't far off either. This is some seriously great British rock that will definitely impress even the purists of the classic era.

2. "Kiss This"
3. The Wombats
These guys are British too, and their brand of rock is indie, not classic. Their sound is a combination of guitar-heavy rock and pop with a lot of electronic influences. "Greek Tragedy" is their most well-known song, and for good reason; it manages to mix bittersweet lyrics with a hopeful and energetic instrumental sound. Expect great things from them.

3. "Let's Dance To Joy Division"
4. Timeflies
This duo is also pretty popular. If you haven't come across one of their Youtube videos by now, immediately go and lose yourself in the massive body of work on their channel. They started by doing #TimefliesTuesday, posting weekly videos that combine a remix of popular songs with some freestyle rapping. They've (re)done just about everything from Under the Sea to Wayward Son to Rihanna, but also have a lot of original songs.

3. "Ride"
Seriously, don't pass up these bands. You'll regret it.
