"You restored me to health and let me live. Surely it was for my benefit that I suffered such anguish. In your love you kept me from the pit of destruction; you have put all my sins behind your back," Isaiah 38;16-17.
Over the past year or two my life has been anything short of a joy ride. It seemed like I was going in circles with decisions about family, school, or friendships.
However, I was not at a good place with God. I felt like he was looking me over and not worried about the obstacles I was constantly going through.
I used to be the girl who wanted to be the "cool" one of the group and have all the "cool" friends who went to the parties of the year, and knew all the guys at every frat house.
But the thing about being in that kind of group is they will only be there for the wild nights; not the ones where you need real advice or someone's shoulder to cry in.
And Wow, God has put the most amazing, kind, and loving people in my life. From taking out the things that were blocking my faith with Him, I have been able to have people not only love me for me, but also love God and have an amazing relationship with him.
1. Mom, Giver of life, Nikki
All I can say is thank you. Thank you for being the strongest person I have ever known. There have been so many trials these past years but never did you doubt God. I admire your strength, patience, and trust in Him.
You have inspired me and encouraged me to begin a relationship with Him. I know whenever times get rough and I start to doubt if things will ever be okay again that you'll be there pointing me straight to him.
2. Emi McCourt
Emi, we have known each other all through high school to now and you have always had a passion for your faith. Something I have always admired about you.
No matter what problem I came to you with or situation I couldn't deal with, you always pushed me to be closer to God.
Always inviting me to church groups on Wednesday nights and church trips it always made my day to know you wanted someone to be as close to God as you are. I love you and your strength to overcome any obstacle you face.
3. Grandma, Nana, Bonnie
Your passion for God shines through you everyday. You always remind me that God never holds grudges, and He loves no matter what. When I come home all I see is you reading your Bible, or going to church and I love the way you love talking to Him.
If you are wondering about God or are struggling in faith, don't be afraid to go to a loved one or someone you know who is strong in their faith. To me, there is nothing better than talking and learning from someone who is so passionate about God.
I hope to be someone that one day someone will want to confide in and learn from like I did from these 3 people.
