28 Truths for Hopeless Romantics

We watch Disney princesses fall in love with teary doe-eyes. We bawl through each blockbuster drama and can't get enough romantic comedy in our lives. We are the hopeless romantics, and we know what love is. Even though our emotional spectrum can't be quantified, we have these 28 truths to share.

1. We know exactly what we want.

Thanks to movies we have unrealistic expectations.

2. We won't settle.

You probably aren't going to cut it.

3. Friends constantly set us up on blind dates, all of which are miserable.

But then someone new comes along.

Well hello gorgeous.

5. And we get our hopes up.

This is the one. This is who I will marry.

6. Every interaction is the potential "perfect moment."

Hence why we always look our best.

7. But we can't seem to find "the one."

How can I marry someone who doesn't like coffee? It's over.

8. Everyone gets annoyed with our love lives.

And when we talk about our loneliness.

9. So we try casual dating to please our friends.

"Casual" meaning true love, right?

10. We tend to make things dramatic.

*hair flip*

11. We break out in song when we're in love.

...I say a little prayer for you...

12. And we think every storm is a sign.

Pneumonia is worth the rain kiss.

13. We'll most likely never find someone as hopelessly romantic as us.

But we secretly like it.

14. Seeing others in love can be a bit difficult.

That should have been ME!

15. We live by terrible love clichés.

"Love will set you free."

16. And we've all secretly practiced our "Titanic" arms.

Jack! I'm flying!

17. Choreographed dance numbers with friends is a normal occurrence.

Dancing is a romantic-comedy staple.

18. Heck, dance numbers with strangers is just as normal.

You make my dreams come true.

19. We feel a deep connection with "young love."

We were all there at one point.

20. We are painfully aware that we might not get what we want.

Because life isn't fair, you know?

21. But we have hope that our time is coming.

My perfect someone is out there; I just know it.

22. The words "happily ever after" ruined us as children.

Yeah, thanks a lot, Disney.

23. But we still believe in the magic of love. And can't stand the naysayers.

You can't handle the truth!

24. Old couples are our heroes.

*sigh* I want that.

25. And you wish dating could go back to the old traditions.

What is this "Tinder?"

26. We know the pain will be worth it one day even if it is hard now.

You will ALL see that I was right.

27. Because our love will last.

"Till death do us part."

28. And we will have finally found our home.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
