22 GIFs That Describe The Panic Of Class Registration

Class registration can be one of the most traumatizing, panic-inducing times of a college student's life. You can be as completely prepared as possible, you can have your schedule planned out through second semester senior year, you can dress like Katniss or have "I'll Make a Man out of You" from the "Mulan" soundtrack playing in the background, but none of that is guaranteed to help you in any way. It's a game of chance that (almost) everybody loses. Happy Hunger Games, college kids -- and may the Class Checker be ever in your favor. (Warning: If you don't like looking at "Hunger Games" GIFs, then this might not be the right article for you.)

1. When you first catch a glimpse of all those shiny new classes, just waiting to be loaded into your shopping cart.

2. When you start trying to calculate how many gen-eds and how many major classes you should be taking this upcoming semester.

3. When an upperclassman warns you about how hard one of your most needed classes is to get into.

4. When you're in the process of plugging a million different possible schedules into Coursicle just to find a way for all your classes to fit together.

5. When you find a history class that fulfills three gen-eds.

6. When half of your classes close before you even have a chance to register.

7. When it's 10 minutes before your registration time and you're giving yourself a pep talk.

8. When it's time to grab your classes and run before anyone steals them.

9. When you weren't quick enough and someone got to your classes first.

10. When you're scrambling to snatch up any classes that were looked over the first time around.

11. When you realize you might have to take an 8 a.m.

12. Correction: When you realize you might have to take two 8 a.m.'s.

13. When you look back at your schedule after it's all over and realize you somehow signed up for three underwater basket-weaving courses because it's all they had left. New major maybe?

14. When you roll up to Academic Advising asking them to fix this mess.

15. And they say that there's nothing they can do to help -- that you'll just have to wait for the classes you need to open up.

16. So you storm off, unsatisfied with their advice.

17. When you frantically plug in all the classes you need into Class Checker.

18. When you sit by your phone impatiently waiting for a class to open up.

19. When a class opens up and you frantically grab it before it's too late.

20. When, after a long arduous journey, you finally have a schedule you can be proud of.

21. But then you realize you actually have to take those classes now.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
