21 Things I Want from Torrid

Growing up, it was hard for me to find not only clothes that fit me, but also ones that did not make me look like I raided my mom’s closet. But that’s hard to do for a plus-size girl in a world filled with Limited Too (anyone remember that store?).

Thankfully, in recent years, that’s changed. Now there are stores that cater specifically to plus-size women. A friend introduced me to Torrid about a year and a half ago. Now, I am as obsessed with this store as I am with Barnes & Noble.

Unfortunately, I don’t get to Torrid as much as I would like to. Of course, that does not mean I don’t have a wishlist for them as long as my one for Amazon. And, before anyone comments, yes—the majority of the items are from some fandom within Disney. Because I desperately want almost every fandom-inspired item Torrid sells.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.

A bad day at the lake is still better than a good day not at the lake.

You know the best beaches and coves to go to.

You have no patience for the guy who can't back his trailer into the water right.

Doing the friendly wave to every boat you pass.

The cooler is always packed, mostly with beer.

Giving the idiot who goes 30 in a "No Wake Zone" a piece of your mind.

You have no problem with peeing in the water.

You know the frustration of getting your anchor stuck.

Watching in awe at the bigger, better boats that pass by.

Knowing any swimsuit that you own with white in it is best left for the pool or the ocean.

The momentary fear for your life as you get launched from the tube.

You're able to go to the restaurants by the water wearing minimal clothing.

There's no better place you'd rather be in the summer.

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

1. My school is incredibly unique.

2. I am not just a number at my school.

3. I feel like I am contributing something to the community.

5. My professors know me and I feel that I can easily communicate with them.
