Sometimes we forget to show them how much they mean to us.

21 Things To Thank Your Dog For
Mitchell Barnhart

Our pets bring us joy, laughter and happiness. One of the most loyal pets a person can have is a dog. (Wo)man's best friend never disappoints us or lets us down. Dogs provide us with unconditional love. There are many things that these creatures do to show they care that might go unnoticed. When we do see what they do, we realize how lucky we are to have them.

1. Keeping our beds warm.

It's nice crawling into sheets that aren't cold.

2. Finishing the last bite when we're too full.

Someone's gotta do it.

3. Always getting excited to see us.

The pure, unadulterated joy.

4. Taking charge when we leave the house.

Who else is gonna make sure no one breaks in?

5. Knowing when something's wrong.

They can sense when we're upset.

6. Never judging us.

We don't think they're weird for smelling butts; they don't think we're weird for not wearing pants sometimes.

7. Making Halloween so much more fun.

If only human costumes were this great.

8. Giving us something to brag about.

Oh your dog sits on command? My dog has his own Facebook page.

9. Allowing us to use them as an excuse.

You want me to come over later? Sorry, I can't. My dog's waiting for me.

10. Being a great listener.

They never interrupt.

11. Forgiving us.

I'm sorry that I've been away at college for three months, I hope you still love me. [Infinite doge kisses.]

12. Taking up half of our camera roll.

Half of my storage is used on pictures of my dogs.

13. Helping us.

They're always there to lend a paw when we need them.

14. Making us laugh.

Dogs are kinda weird, if you think about it.

15. When they're the best travel companion.

Nothing better than an adventure with your best friend.

16. Their protection.

They stand guard even when we don't realize it.

17. They remind us to enjoy the little things.

Their innocence and curiosity never ceases to amaze us.

18. And that sometimes it's OK to take the easy way.

We all deserve a break.

19. Inspiring us.

We can overcome anything that we set our minds to.

20. Giving us a reason to smile.

Dogs are goofy.

21. Providing us with a lifelong best friend.

We'll always have each other.

Let's remember to thank them for all that they do for us.

New England Summers Are The BEST Summers

Why you should spend your next summer in New England.

Three years ago, I chose to attend college in Philadelphia, approximately 360 miles away from my small town in New Hampshire. I have learned many valuable lessons away from home, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in Pennsylvania. One thing that my experience has taught me, however, is that it is absolutely impossible to beat a New England summer.

Yes, the math major is doing a math-related post. What are the odds? I'll have to calculate it later. Many people have probably learned about the Fibonacci sequence in their high school math classes. However, I thought I would just refresh everyone's memories and show how math can be beautiful and apply to physical things everywhere around us with stunning examples.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
