Christmas break is finally upon us, and we all have been using this break to get help get us through these last few weeks of exams, projects, and finals. Christmas break is a time to get refreshed, relax, enjoy two of the best holidays, and also have a lot of fun, and make a lot of memories. Here's some ideas to help make your break the best one yet!
1. Sell your textbooks.
We all know that we are ~broke~ at the end of the semester, but you can at least have a little extra spending money for when you go back home.
2. Pre-order snowballs from Bahama Bucks and throw them at your roommates and friends.
What better way to say have a great break?
3. Visit Santa's Wonderland and bask in all the Christmas joy, goodness, and fun.
Even if it's a little extra.
4. Watch a marathon of cheesy Hallmark Christmas movies, of course accompanied by a cup of hot cocoa.
5. Drink hot cocoa.
Yes, it was previously mentioned, but it's just so good and this drink needs to be honored. You can add peppermint, snowflake shaped marshmallows, you can make your hot cocoa to whatever your heart contends.
6. Visit all the lights in your town, and nearby towns!
You know you want to, and all the pics will look great on your Instagram.
7. Go to Target and get all the fuzzy socks.
This is should be a tradition for every single person.
8. This one's a given, but tacky Christmas sweater parties are always a grand idea.
Have one with your coworkers, your neighbors, your family, let's be real, everyone loves them. If you don't... might I suggest a Grinch sweater?
9. Naps.
This one might not seem super exciting but naps are something we push to the side as soon as finals season approaches, so a nap where you don't have to set an alarm? That sounds like a dream.
10. Quality time with family.
Sometimes family stresses us out, or we don't really have anything in common, or there's tension, but either way, we can always make the effort to love someone, and Christmas break gives us an opportunity to do that.
11. Pick out a Christmas tree!
Even if it's a little tiny Charlie Brown one, or you just go to look at them, Christmas trees are an essential for the break. No one will judge you either if you leave it up after New Years.
12. Ahh, New Years, one of the best holidays.
New Years is so fun, it's got its own number on this list.
13. Shopping for New Years!!
If we are all honest, yes, sequins and glitter and all that jazz, not really comfy, but we can get away with all that sparkle for at least a night. Grab your friends and make a trip to your favorite shop or the mall to just try on dresses and have fun! Guys, you can add glitter to your beards if you don't want to be left out.
14. Catch up on your fave Netflix shows!
Now, I wouldn't suggest wasting the break by binge watching, but catching up on your fave show before the spring semester starts, is totally okay! Catch up on Riverdale, Stranger Things, or even just rewatch your fave Christmas episodes of The Office.
15. Christmas. Music.
Bonus points for She & Him and Michael Buble.
16. Help out!
There are awesome opportunities around Christmas break to either donate, give a helping hand, and just be loving! See what your local community needs and encourage others to do the same!
17. Clean out your closet!
New year, new me, am I right? No but really, go through your closet, do a #cleanse, and sell or donate your clothes! Plus, you can use that extra money for something to wear for New Years or hot cocoa.
18. Watch Elf.
Elf is the Christmas movie of all Christmas movies, and yes, your grandma might not agree with me, but I challenge her to watch this movie and not laugh and sing along with Buddy th elf.
19. Go on a trip!
We've got a few weeks to really see friends and make some memories! Whether it's a day trip to Dallas, or something big like Colorado or the Grand Canyon, do it! Take advantage of every opportunity!
20. Make some gifts!
Christmas is great but we shouldn't be consumed with presents or gifts, because that's not the meaning of this holiday! Think how you can really love and bless your family and friends at this time!
21. Enjoy Christmas and the break!
Christmas is a great holiday and we can't forget what it means! We get to celebrate the birth of Jesus and sing Christmas songs about His birth at the top of our lungs and overflowing with joy! Merry Christmas and have a great break!!
