7 Things Scarier Than Halloween

There's nothing more terrifying than having to live up to other people's expectations.

It's that time of year again. Pumpkin spice, falling leaves, and scary movies to watch at night. It's always fun to eat all the candy you want and get a little spooked to kick off the holiday season.

With Halloween only days away, here are some things to give you the creeps and put you in that Halloween spirit.

1. College graduation

Nothing's scarier than the idea that you have to go out into the real world and start being an adult. I think I'll just stay a few more semesters...

2. Trump

He's a pretty scary dude, that's why so many people dress up as him for Halloween.

3. Our political climate in general

It's spooky szn bitches. Also voting season.

4. Commitment

What if I change my mind?

A job, a partner, a house, really anything that means you have to devote yourself to is terrifying.

5. Having to pay rent

6. Mondays

Who wants to actually get out of bed and have to interact with people as a normal human being? No thanks.

The lower the expectations, the less disappointment.

Let's face it, there are terrifying things happening all the time, not just on Halloween.

So next time you sit down to watch a scary movie or go to a haunted house, remember the real fears of the world. There's nothing more scary than the world around you.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
