Not sure what clothes you should have in your closet for fall? Not sure if that shirt is appropriate for the season? Well, if you're having trouble figuring out what to wear for the fall season, this article gives it all!

1. Oversized Sweaters

THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT FALL PIECES. I cannot stress enough how sweaters are the first thing you should be buying for the fall season. Note: Do not buy a sweater true to size OR a cropped sweater. Cropped sweaters will shrink and leave you feeling cold and sweaters true to size will look fitted instead of comfy and fashionable. (But also, if you like the fitted look, go for it). Colors to aim for: purples, tans/browns, pale pinks and olive.

2. Riding Boots

Boots are always the perfect shoe that fit perfectly with any fall outfit. They're fashionable and can also be super comfortable. Boots go well with leggings and jeans, so you can't fail! Colors to aim for: tan, light and dark brown, grey and black

3. Booties

Yes, riding boots and booties are two separate points because they are NOT the same thing. Booties are perfect when you want to look dressy and add some lift to your outfit. You can buy a show with a high or low heel, either way works! Colors to aim for: tan, black, grey, light and dark brown.

4. Leggings

Leggings are, of course, important to your wardrobe for all year round. However, fall is one of the most important seasons to have them! They can make you look casual, comfy, and even fancy! Colors to aim for: black, brown, grey, or red.

5. Scarves

Scarves are the perfect accessory for any fall outfit. The only difficulty is making sure that it matches what you're wearing. My favorite fall scarf types are blanket and infinity scarves, however, you can go with whatever type you like! Colors to aim for: pretty much any deep fall color like brown, tan, red, purple, maroon, olive, pale pinks/mauve, black, and grey.

6. Legwarmers

These add style to your boots(combat, riding boots, and even some types of booties). Legwarmers accent the shoes you're wearing adding a cozy and comfy feel to your outfit. Colors to aim for: It depends on whatever color your boots are, but I would say aim for grey, tan, maroon, black, and white.

7. Plaid Shirts

Plaid shirts are EVERYTHING. They can be used for a comfy style as well as a classy style. They can be on their own with a pair of jeans or leggings, or you can add accessories like vests and solid colored scarves to them to add some fun and flair! Colors to aim for: any color that isn't too bright!

8. Chambray Shirts

The best thing about Chambray, or denim, shirts is that you can wear them in any shade and it's still perfect for fall. You can pair Chambray shirts with leggings, colored jeans/pants, and skirts. You can also pair them with statement necklaces and any color scarf! Colors to aim for: obviously dark, light, and medium shades of chambray. In my opinion, stay away from ombre.

9. Colored Jeans

Well, you can't wear jeans and leggings all the time, so having colored jeans is always a good idea. These can be any kind of pants that your comfortable with or just the regular kind of jean material. You can go with waistline jeans or high waisted. Colors to aim for: tan, olive, pale pink, purple, maroon.

10. Denim Jeans

This is, of course, an obvious staple. However, you can have any style whether they're waistline or high waisted, straight leg or leggings, but stay AWAY from bootcut, that is a fashion don't. Colors and styles to aim for: dark, medium, light, or holy jeans.

11. Cardigans

Cardigans are perfect for when you only have short sleeved shirts and need to keep warm. Cardigans can be worn in solid, patterned, or crocheted patterns. You can also buy regular, waist length ones or ones that flow a little bit longer. Colors to aim for: Solid colors like maroon, black, grey, olive, or pale pink or go for a fall patterned color.

12. Vests

And when I say vest, I mean puffer vests, sherpa vests, or a utility vest. Now, these won't keep you warm all the time, so you'll need to pair it with a long-sleeved shirt, sweater, or denim or chambray shirt. Vests add a fun look to your outfit! Colors to aim for: Black, grey, maroon, olive utility vest, white, or brown.

13. Army Jacket

I love army jackets. They add a spunky flair to your fall outfits and make you look edgy too. You can pair them with t-shirts or thermal shirts. Colors to aim for: These really only work with one girl, which is army green/olive green.

14. Skater Skirt

Skater skirts are perfect for when you want to dress up or even just look casually cute! Pair them with sweaters, a nice blouse, or a denim shirt! Add a scarf, boots, tights, or a statement necklace to complete the outfit! Colors to aim for: Black, grey, or maroon.

15. Button-Up Skirt

Button-up skirts have recently become my favorite. They can help you look super casual or you can wear a colored one for a dressed up look! Colors to aim for: denim, maroon, black, and tan/brown.

16. Basic T-Shirts

These are a must for every season, but flowy t-shirts are a must for fall when you need something simple to pair with a button up shirt or cardigan. They can be basic t's, scoop neck or v neck, or pocket t's. Colors to aim for: black, white, grey, olive, pink, and pretty much any solid color that isn't bright.

17. Swing Dress

Swing dresses are the best casual dress and also a dress you can wear to a fancy occasion. To add onto that, they're also super comfortable! Add a scarf for a casual look, a vest, or a statement necklace to add a fancy effect! The best shoes to wear with them is any of the shoes mentioned here! Colors to aim for: Olive green, mauve, maroon, black, tan, and any other fall solid color!

18. Thermal Tee

These will keep you warm while also keeping you fashionable. They work the best as quarter t's or long sleeve shirts. They're thermal on the inside, so you won't see the fuzzy parts on the outside. You can wear these with cardigans or any type of jacket, or just on their own! colors to aim for: any solid, fall type color that was mentioned before.

19. Striped Shirt

Striped shirts are a must, must, must! These can be in sweater form, t-shirt, long sleeve, or quarter sleeve! As long as it has stripes, then it works! Add a vest and a scarf to style it up! Colors to aim for: either black and white or navy and white! The darker the better.

20. Flats

Sometimes, you just don't want to wear boots and want something super simple and sweet to put on your feet. Flats are also very practical and can be super comfortable if you buy the right pair. I prefer the round-tipped flats, but pointed flats are a good stylistic choice too! Colors to aim for: Maroon, black, tan, brown, cheetah print, and grey.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating.
