The Benefits Of Having A Mom In Your Friend Group

We all have that one friend that somewhere down the line was designated as the "responsible one", the one who makes sure that you survive college without having your real mother there to take care of you. I like to call that friend Mom.

1. If Mom sees you sitting on the couch and playing on your phone, she is not shy to nag you to clean your room or pick up after yourself.

2. You know she will always be there to remind you that it is time to do your laundry.

3. Mom always has snacks, so you will never starve.

4. Because you are seemingly incapable, she helps you fix the light in you room or format that impossible excel sheet.

5. Without her, you would most likely forget your wallet, purse, and/or keys at least once a week.

6. She helps you (or forces you) to study or go to the gym when it is the last thing that you want to do.

7. You save money on Uber because Mom doesn't mind carpooling you around.

8. Mom is always the first to check on you to make sure you made it home safe after a night out.

9. You have someone who is willing to gossip with you and listen to you vent about your problems. (Even though this is the 100th time you have reiterated how annoyed you are at that girl in your math class).

10. She knows literally everything, I mean everything about you and your life.

11. As a result, she understands you better than anyone and can give you advice that you really should listen to (not that you always do, sorry Mom).

12. She is the only one who knows exactly how to deal with you when you are mad-sad-had too much sugar.

13. Mom is not afraid to put you in your place and tell you that you are “better than that" if you are making poor decisions.

14. Mostly because she expects a lot out of you.

15. You always want to make Mom proud so you are sure to tell her every little victory of your day from actually getting around to cleaning your room for once to nailing that test you have been studying for.

16. You know she will always support you in everything that you do.

17. Just like your real mom, Mom will always be one of your best friends and you can’t thank her enough for being the responsible one when you can't–won't be.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
