Relationships between siblings are always unique; you can hate each other one minute and be best friends the next. The dynamic gets weirder when the age gap between you and your sibling is more than seven years and suddenly "big sister" means "actual grown-up."

1. You can clearly remember the day they were born

2. But you can also remember what life was like before they were born

You used to be the cute one that everyone loved, and then a baby appeared and you turned into chopped liver.

3. You were pretty much a built-in-babysitter until they were old enough to stay home alone

Forget hanging out with your friends after school, you had to watch the kid while your mom went grocery shopping.

4. You surprise yourself with how quickly you can stoop to their level and have really immature fights

Let's face it when you're 12-year-old sister is yelling at you for eating a piece of chicken off her plate, it's really hard to "be the bigger person" and "set a good example."

5. But when people talk about getting into physical fights with their siblings, you have no idea what that's like

6. You don't understand their interests

7. And you feel really old when you meet their friends

8. Or when you try to tell them stories from "back in the day"

9. In fact, sometimes it feels like there's an entire generation gap between you

Especially the first time you realize your siblings have no idea who NSYNC is...

10. You offer advice you probably aren't qualified to give because you want them to think you're smart and mature

11. You get jealous of them more often than you'd like to admit

You're living in the adult world and they're still getting spoiled by your parents (more spoiled than you ever were, tbh).

12. You feel like a proud parent whenever they accomplish something new

13. So proud, in fact, that you probably show pictures of them to all of your friends

You just need all your friends to know that your sister was the prettiest one at her school dance.

14. You can't wait for them to grow up so you can really hang out

15. But at the same time, you've probably thought about them while listening to Taylor Swift's "Never Grow Up"

And cried.

16. You know that no age gap can stop the love you have for them

They may be the most annoying people in the world, but they're also kind of your favorite.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
