16 Of The Best SNL Sketches From Season 42

Here are 16 of my favorite Saturday Night Live sketches from this season!

Each season of Saturday Night Live brings new jokes, new cast members, and of course new sketches. Season 42 has brought about just that. From Alec Baldwin's impersonation of Donald Trump to Bobby Moynihan's revival of Drunk Uncle. This season has been one of the greatest in my opinion and I'm sad to see it go. To wait out the hiatus, here are 16 of my favorite sketches and monologues from this season!

1. Lin-Manuel Miranda's Monologue

2. A Day Off (Kate McKinnon as Kellyanne)

McKinnon was on a role this season portraying so many different figures within the political hemisphere, one of my favorites was Kellyanne. A Day Off shows us what Kellyanne would do on a day off, if she could ever get one.

3. Office Hours

4. Election Week Cold Open (Hallelujah - Hillary)

This cold open, rather than making me laugh, made me cry. Watching Kate McKinnon sing Hallelujah as Hillary Clinton the weekend after the election was definitely something I needed. At the end, McKinnon turns to the camera and tells the audience to not give up hope and I think that that was something many people in the country needed to hear after a long week of heartbreak and protests.

5. Posters

One of my favorite parts of SNL is when the actors break character and laugh along with the audience. In this particular sketch, Pete Davidson breaks slightly in the beginning and I absolutely love it!

6. Christmas Miracle

Any skit with the alien abduction encounters or in this case Santa Claus abduction, is hilarious. The writing and the way Kate McKinnon creates this character is so incredibly great.

7. Kristen Stewart Monologue

Kristen Stewart calling out Donald Trump on secretly being in love with Robert Pattinson during her monologue was absolutely hilarious! I loved every minute of it!

8. Celebrity Family Feud: Super Bowl Edition

9. Zoo-opolis Voice Actors

10. Shud The Mermaid

Kate McKinnon as Shud the Mermaid really couldn't get any funnier. This is one you just have to watch!

11. Civil War Soldiers

Jimmy Fallon and Harry Styles singing in a sketch has to be one of the greatest things to happen this season on SNL.

Who wouldn't want to watch Chris Pine lip-sync and dance to a song with Bobby Moynihan?!

14. Morning Joe Cold Open

15. Kyle and Leslie

The romance between Kyle, Leslie, and Colin has created a few great jokes for the show. This prerecorded sketch was so funny and I loved seeing Kyle and Colin interact with this joke together, rather than it being just Leslie and Colin or Leslie and Kyle. Colin even continued the sketch into the ending of the show by wearing a cast on his leg.

16. Every Other Political Cold Open From This Season

Each cold open from this season was incredible. From the debates to the talk shows and interviews, this season offered up some very great material with these sketches and to see Alec Baldwin come back again and again as Trump was something I looked forward to each week!
