New Year's Day is finally almost here, and everyone's resolutions are officially starting! However, each and every year a majority of the people never actually accomplish their goals. In fact, most people give up a week after New Year's Day. To be honest, everyone's New Year's resolutions are almost always the same and typical resolution. Here are the classic 15 you've heard before.


1. I will lose weight this year.

I'll exercise for an hour each day and be sure to have a healthy diet and everything!

2. I will have better grades this year.

I'll study longer and pay attention in class. It'll be a piece of cake.

3. I will no longer procrastinate on school work this year.

I'll do my homework right when I get home, and I'll start my projects right when the teacher assigns them.

4. I will be more clean and organized this year.

I'll clean my room, my bathroom, my backpack, my locker and everything!

5. I will get along with my siblings more this year.

I'll hug them once a day and tell them that I appreciate them (even if they're annoying).

6. I will be more social and outgoing this year.

I'll go out more with my friends instead of lying that I'm sick and can't go out.

7. I will eat healthier this year.

I'll buy kale, celery, broccoli and all the good green veggies.

8. I will drive safely this year.

I'll focus on the road and try not to get distracted by cute dogs walking along the sidewalks.

9. I will spend more time with my family this year.

I'll have family nights with them, and we can play board games.

10. I will learn to enjoy life more this year.

I'll love myself and my life. I'll even stop on the street just to admire that small leaf on the ground.

11. I will spend less money on things that I want this year.

I'll stop buying all of those expensive makeup products and brandname clothes. I swear.

12. I will travel more this year.

I'll travel to Japan, China, Korea, London, Britain, Hawaii and more!

13. I will learn something new this year.

I will learn Korean. I will learn how to play the cello. I'll learn how to bake an apple pie.

14. I will read more this year.

I will read this book and that book and all those other books this year!

15. I will not make any resolutions this year.

I will never ever be able to accomplished my resolutions. So what's the point of creating any resolutions?

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
