As you can probably tell from the title of this article, I am going to be talking about my home state of Florida and all the little shenanigans us Floridians know of and probably some people have no clue about. I think every state has their own way of doing things, so I figured this would be something fun to write about and to share with others.

Even though I was born in Ohio and a good majority of my family still lives up north, my family moved down to the Sunshine State when I was 2 years old. So, you could basically say I am a true Floridian at heart, even if I was not physically born here. I grew up here and have noticed that there are a few things that all of us, as Floridians, are subjected to, and some people who are not from Florida may not understand what we completely mean. Let's jump right in!

1. "Pub-subs" are the bomb.com

2. It can be sunny outside and randomly start raining out of nowhere

3. Hurricane season doesn't scare us, and some people throw Hurricane parties

4. If the temperature goes below 70 degrees, we are actually freezing cold

5. Snowbirds pretty much suck

6. No one knows how to drive on the highway

7. Tinted windows are a must-have on cars down here

8. It is perfectly acceptable to wear flip-flops and shorts for any occasion

9. Lovebugs are actually not loving at all and we hate them

10. During the summer you have to hide your phone so it doesn't overheat (LOL actually happened to me before)

11. You will see alligators in the most random of places

12. Going to the beach is our version of a "winter wonderland"

13. When you decide to make your hair look pretty for the day and then you go outside and the humidity instantly ruins it

14. Our winter typically lasts only one week every year, then it is basically summer again

15. We all own way more bathing suits than we do winter clothing

I could probably add WAY more things to this short little list that I put together, but you probably get a general idea, right? I love living in the Sunshine State and I hope this was able to put a smile on some of your faces if you are from Florida like me, or even if you don't live here. But let's be real, you really have to live here to understand most of these, LOL.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
