Lately, I've found myself listening to a lot of music from the mid-late 2000s.

Once in a while, I find myself in this nostalgic mood, reminiscing over a time in my life where I still didn't know what I wanted to do for a living because I was only 17 and I had fewer responsibilities than I do now. Sometimes I long for the days when my to-do list wasn't endless and I didn't have automatic payments, but what I will say that one of the only elements of 2008 I miss is the music. Sidebar: 2008 was an absolute shit year for me and I'd never relive it unless I had a do-over, but that's not what this piece is about.

Here are 15 songs from 2008 that will take you back:

1. "I Kissed A Girl" - Katy Perry

Who remembers having this song stuck in their head all of the time?

2. Pocketful of Sunshine - Natasha Bedingfield

Natasha Bedingfield's music always brought a smile to my face and knew how to spark inspiration.

3. Bubbly - Colbie Caillat

"Bubbly" always gave me warm, fuzzy feelings whenever I'd hear it on the radio. I think we've all experienced that "bubbly" feeling when we're first in love.

4. So What? - P!nk

I always want to dance and jam out when I hear any song by P!nk playing! Not to mention P!nk is an inspiring artist and person who taught us not to give a fuck about what anyone else thinks.

5. I'm Yours - Jason Mraz

One of the cutest love songs of all time! Jason Mraz's music is always feel-good.

6. Shake It - Metro Station

Hey, whatever happened to Metro Station?

7. Womanizer - Britney Spears

It's Britney, bitch! Need I say more?

8. When I Grow Up - The Pussycat Dolls

Every time I hear this song, I think of that movie "The House Bunny" with Anna Faris.

9. Low - Flo Rida ft. T-Pain

I guarantee this song is already stuck in your head.

10. Love Story - Taylor Swift

Ah yes, it's Taylor Swift before she decided she wanted to revenge on every guy that has wronged her.

11. Single Ladies- Beyonce'

The song that's been played at every bouquet toss at every wedding since 2008.

12. Sexy Can I - Ray J

Another song that's going to get stuck in your head on repeat.

13. Shut Up And Let Me Go - The Ting Tings

After this song and "That's Not My Name," we never heard another song by them and that makes me kind of sad because I like their music.

14. Bleeding Love - Leona Lewis

A beautiful and sad song.

15. Take A Bow - Rhianna

You can never go wrong with Rhianna when it comes to songs about love, broken hearts, being wronged or just wanting to party.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register.
