15 Bible Verses To Get You Through The End Of The Semester

The end of the semester is the most stressful time of the semester. You have 25 papers due, 19 discussion boards, you're getting no sleep because you have been pulling all-nighters, coffee just won't do its job, and on top of it all you have 12 final exams coming up... oh and you only have 5 classes.

At least this is what it usually feels like to me. Now if you don't graduate at the end of the semester right after finals, then this may be all you're worried about. But, if you're like me all of that is the least of your problems right now because if and when you pass all your exams so you can walk across that stage, the real world is right there waiting to slap you in the face. Not only are we stressed with final projects, and senior seminar or capstone, we are stressed with what we are doing after graduation.

Do you have a job lined up?

Are you pursuing higher education?

What schools are you looking at?

Are you taking a year off before going back to school?

Are you applying anywhere in your field?

Are you moving home?

Where are you going to live?

How will you pay your bills?

What if you don't get a job in the field you just put yourself in debt to get?

All of these are legitimate questions, but it doesn't make them any less stressful. Now I will be the first to tell you that I have not been going to church and following God's word recently like I should be, but these next few bible verses have certainly helped me with finals week and the end of the semester.

1. Matthew 6:33-34

Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

2. Proverbs 3:25-26

25 Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, 26 for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared.

3. Psalm 139:16

All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

4. 2 Corinthians 6:4-10

4 Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; 5 in hard work, sleepless nights 8 through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report…yet we live on; 10 sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.

5. 1 Corinthians 15:57

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

6. Philippians 3:13-14

But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

7. John 14:27

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

8. Jeremiah 29:11

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future"

9. 1 Peter 1:6-7

6 …for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

10. Hebrews 12:11

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

11. Daniel 1:17

To these four young men, God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning.

12. Psalm 18:29

With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God, I can scale a wall.

13. Proverbs 3:5-6

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

14. Mark 10:27

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man, this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”

15. Matthew 28:20

"And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
