13 Selfie Poses We Hate To Admit We've Done

You're lying to yourself if you say you've never done any of these

13 Selfie Poses We Hate To Admit We've Done

Everyone's taken selfies- and if you haven't, you're lying to yourself. Whether you haven't taken one in years or you took one just yesterday, we all have made the mistake of making those faces that we all hate to love. Seriously though, who even comes up with these faces?

1. The duck face

The phenomenon that started in the early 2000's but became popular with millennials around 2013 is still seen all over social media. and will probably never fade away.

2. The Tongue out

I was recently looking through my camera roll and realized how stupid I look while sticking my tongue out when taking selfies and ever since then, I will never do it again. If you or someone you love suffers from this disastrous pose, please try to get help now before it's too late

3. The serious face

Every time I see one of these selfies I hear Heath Ledger's Joker in my head go "Why so serious?".

4. The half face

I've seen more younger kids do this and it's almost like they're a little insecure about their face. Why take a selfie if you're only going to show half of your face. Sorry for another Batman reference but I always think of two- face and how they might be hiding that ugly side

5. The dog filter

EVERYONE has fallen victim to the dog filter on snapchat and if you haven't you probably don't have snapchat.

6. Showing off your makeup

I personally relate to this because every time I do my makeup I want to show it off and document it. This one definitely isn't the worst of them unless you're bad at makeup

7. The mirror selfie

A.K.A the signature tool picture. If you don't have a mirror selfie somewhere from when you were 13 with your iPod or hand-me-down phone or whatever it is you used, did you actually turn 13? If you don't remember, I would suggest looking for it because I guarantee you do.

8. In the car

Once you get your permit or license or your first car, it's almost a rule to take a selfie in the car. I know from experience, I would just sit it my car and try to take selfies. It does have the best lighting, after all

9. The close-up

If you've done your makeup or you just really love your eyes, there's bound to be a close-up selfie in your collection of selfies.

10. The blurry pic

These pictures are taken with the front flash when it's dark. Even though you can hardly see, you're still feeling yourself.

10. The no makeup

Sometimes, you feel yourself with no makeup because maybe your skin is clear finally or it's just really good lighting and that great because even if you look like a pale potato like me, you still have the right to feel yaself.

11. The head tilt

Maybe you're not looking your best or perhaps you have a blemish on the side of your face. Solution: the side tilt. It's a proven fact by actual scientists (lol jk) that if you tilt your head, it makes you more photogenic.

12. The pouty face

Why has this become a thing? Why is looking sad in a selfie cool or hip? Did I miss out on a selfie pose meeting? Sometimes I'm so tempted to comment on a girl's pouty face selfie and say "Are you okay?" or "Don't worry, be happy"

13. The back camera (with flash)

Before the front camera flash was invented and the selfie was perfected, we had to take selfies with flash on the back camera. Sometimes I'll find one of those with my old photos when I had braces and didn't know how to do my makeup. All I have to say is, thank the Lord for front flash.

Okay, I'll admit it, I still take selfies but not as often as I did in high school. I've learned, however, how utterly idiotic I look while taking them and have limited my selfie taking by a lot. You live and you learn, that's all I have to say

Happy Selfieing!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
