Black cats and stepping on cracks, put a bad luck twist this Halloween! Witches and brooms, you can always purposely put a hex on someone you don’t…or do like. Make it a superstitious person’s nightmare with the horror of 13’s and upside down horseshoes!
12. Zodiac Signs or Gods and Goddesses
Royally exotic and easy to put together, can you get your mythic side on? Sure you’ve seen the Greek Gods and Goddesses, so try Roman or any other gods you’ve looked up too. White pillars, blue streamers, make the place scream ethereal.
11. Go as Your Favorite Soccer Team or any other Sports Teams
Soccer, football, golf. Make it sporty and fun with either one sport or all of them! Don’t let anyone in if they’re not rocking athletic gear or sporting something BALLIN’!
10. Decades Party!
Go cliché with the 1920’s or groove with the 70’s. Bring back the past with your favorite decade or even pick a future one! What do you think we’ll be wearing in the next 4 decades?
9. The Weasley Family or Other Story Book Characters
The Series of Unfortunate Events, Lord of the Rings, The Very Hungry Caterpillars; with so many books to chose from, you could have a bit of fun. Pick your favorite series or just have a fictional character party. Let’s see everyone’s favorite with this brought to life storyland. Bonus points if you can stay in character all night!
8. Snow White and the 7 Dwarves or any other Disney Princess(es Groups)
The simple, always done and always fun: DISNEY! Our childhood never ends and no matter how many times we’re told to grow up, Disney STAYS. So grab the princes and animal sidekicks, make a kingdom out of your house! Take it under the sea or to Paris and you have a Disney movie anywhere in the world.
7. Your Favorite 7 Colors as Crayons, Play-Doh, or Candy
Easy for a last minute costume or party; dress your house and group up in one color or all of them. Add some decorations and easily become your favorite candy or other colorful characters. You’ve got My Little Pony, any Troll Dolls, nail polish, etc.!
6. The Mystery Gang, Clue Characters, or any of our Favorite Childhood Characters
Remember the days when Velma, Shaggy and Scooby would be split up from the group? Or even Recess, Hey Arnold, and CatDog! Make our childhood come back with the party that knows how to reminisce.
5. Pac Man and the Ghosts or other Video Game Characters
With Final Fantasy and Grand Theft Auto on the scene, turn your house into something any player can get into. Play your parts or even play your favorite soundtrack from the games. Make it a game you’ll just want to keep playing!
4. The 4 Seasons or Dress like Another Holiday
Give a shout out to the other times of the year by dedicating a party to them. Have your house reflect what you’d rather the weather be like. Make winter or Valentine’s Day in your house by dressing up for the weather or for the occasion.
3. 3 Blind Mice, Alvin and the Chipmunks, or any other Animal Trios
Make your house into the animal kingdom! Hierarchies or packs, you gotta stick together in this one. So expand your territory and be a party animal! Just remember when it’s getting outta hand, you can always chase any prey out the door.
2. Thing 1 and Thing 2 or any Couple Costume
Make the party require having either a partner or twin! Make everyone see double or guess which half goes with the other. You could make your house a mirror house or completely symmetrize the room. Confuse everyone.
1. Everyone dress as Waldo or some Clone of a Costume
Just like #2, try to confuse everyone the walks through the door. Have your housemates and maybe even a few friends all dress alike. You’ll know who the people who don’t belong are and make an easy escape if you need it. Bonus points if everything down to make up and your shoes match!
