August means classes start and classes starting means stress. College brings on a whole new meaning of stress and struggles. Whether this is your first year in college, or you've been in college for a while, the thought of new classes, new people, new professors, etc. is terrifying. Being a Christian in college is tough. You want to be different, but you also want to be like everyone else. If you're overwhelmed because classes are starting or trying to stand out and be a light in the darkness, refer back to these 13 Bible verses to bring you peace in this stressful time.

1. Acts 2:25

"For He is at my right hand that I may not be shaken"

2. James 1:4

"But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing"

3. Proverbs 16:3

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
