The weary world rejoices! I literally cannot even fathom being alive right before Jesus was born on the very first Christmas ever! Can you imagine the instant HOPE and JOY that Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, and the wise men felt? And eventually the whole world? At that moment humanity shifted from doomed to chosen.

Christmas is my absolute favorite time of the year because the whole earth just radiates the power of Christ and His perfect love story for us, humbling himself to a sweet an innocent babe when He could've come as a mighty King. Let us tune our hearts to sing of the newborn King, bury these words deep in our hearts, and worship His name above all names this Christmas season! Scripture is FULL of Christmas verses!

1. 2 Corinthians 9:15

"Thanks be to God for His inexpressible gift!"

Christmas is the season and Jesus is the reason! The best gift of all!

2. Isaiah 7:14

"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel."

3. Galatians 4:4-5

"But when the set time had fully come, God sent His son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship."

Adopted as a Child of God - are you kidding me?! That wouldn't even be possible without Jesus, our citizenship in heaven begins with the manger!

4. Luke 2:12

"And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger."

My Savior is humble and tender!

5. Matthew 1:21

"She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins."

6. Philippians 2:8-10

"And being found in human form, He humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth."

Talk about undeserving! How can we not bow at the feet of Jesus when we consider all He has done for us?

7. Romans 6:23

"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

The best gift of all!!

8. Luke 1:14

"You will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at His birth."

Christmas is a time of celebration! Rejoice at the newborn baby who came to redeem us!

9. Matthew 2:11

"After coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother, and they fell to the ground and worshipped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh."

Take time to fall to the ground in awe before your Savior and worship Him! He is so worthy!

10. John 1:14

"And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth."

11. John 1:29

"Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world."

12. Luke 2:19

"But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart."

Jesus, please let me be more like Mary and treasure the goodness of this precious season in my heart and ponder all of the wonderful works you have done!

Let earth receive her KING!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
