Christmas displays in October... come on people.

The 12 Days Of Obnoxious Christmas Traditions
Christmas

To each their own. Celebrate the holidays how you choose. I love Christmas and Christmas lights and Christmas dinner as much as the next person... just not in July. I think we can all agree these are all very obnoxious and over the top.. even if you do them.

1. On the first day of Christmas, the thing that annoys me is.... Christmas decorations in October.

Are you freaking kidding me?! Personally, I love Halloween. Let me celebrate my skulls, spider webs, black cats, and Jack-O-Lanterns in peace. Without Santa, wrapping paper, and Christmas bulbs being set out in the background.

2. On the second day of Christmas, the thing that annoys me is.... Premature Christmas lights and Christmas lights in June.

Before Thanksgiving is early for Christmas lights, but not completely unacceptable. After Thanksgiving is the ideal time. Don't even get me started on leaving your Christmas lights on all year...

3. On the third day of Christmas, the thing that annoys me is... Those obnoxious blow-up Christmas decorations that do not belong in your 4x4 foot yard.

Seriously, I don't even know what to say about this one. You barely have a yard as it is, and now Rudolph is covering half of your sidewalk as well. Just don't.

4. On the fourth day of Christmas, the thing that annoys me is.. Christmas music in EVERY store after Thanksgiving.

I like Christmas music as much as the next person, but Jingle Bells and Sleigh Ride on November 28... No thanks.

5. On the fifth day of Christmas, the thing that annoys me is... Elf on the Shelf.

Whoever invented this is making a killing. Parents that participate in this, god bless you and your creative souls. There is now also a Mench on a Bench for those of you that do not celebrate Christmas. (Just a side note, my nephew's elf is named Pickles. Merry Christmas.)

6. On the sixth day of Christmas, the thing that annoys me is.... How present-focued Christmas has become.

I'm not being a Scrooge and complaining about gifts being given on Christmas. I'm just saying we need to remember to appreciate our friends and family during the holidays, and appreciate baby Jesus as well. Shoutout to you, baby Jesus.

7. On the seventh day of Christmas, the thing that annoys me is... The waste of wrapping paper.

Seriously, we buy rolls and rolls every year, spend time wrapping them with cute little bows, only for it all to be destroyed and put into a garbage bag. Appreciate my cute Charlie Brown wrapping paper!!

8. On the eighth day of Christmas, the thing that annoys me is... The Overly-Happy-In-The-Holiday-Spirit salesclerk.

Yeah, I'm excited too, but I'm not HAPPY-FREAKING-HOLIDAYS-WE-ARE-HAVING-27-SALES-THAT-I-MUST-TELL-YOU-ALL-ABOUT-IN-3-SECONDS excited. Yes, considering the 8 other shopping bags I have, I have done a lot of Christmas shopping. Thank you.

9. On the ninth day of Christmas, the thing that annoys me is... Getting the weird, random, unwanted gifts from people you aren't that close to.

I'm super, super thankful for everyone buying me these gifts, and thank you so much for another bottle of bubble bath. I'll store it with the others in the hall closet that have been there for about 4 years.

10. On the tenth day of Christmas, the thing that annoys me is... Car Christmas decorations.

Those of you that make your car into reindeer, or Santa.. Why?

11. On the eleventh day of Christmas, the thing that annoys me is... Black Friday.

Need I say more? It is obnoxious, and relentless, and you need to give it a rest. I understand the sales and the deals, I get it, but spend time with your family too. And don't throw hands over a new flat screen. (There's also this really awesome thing, called Amazon Prime.)

12. On the twelfth day of Christmas, the thing that annoys me is... Packing up all of the holiday decorations on December 26th.

Take it out for a month, look at it for a little while, and then put it back in it's corner of the basement. It's kind of pointless, really, but we're all still going to do it. No shame. As a kid, it's all fun and games decorating the tree and the house. It all just gets magically put away one day. As an adult... not so fun.

Again, to each their own, celebrate how you want, but we can all agree these are obnoxious, even if you participate in them. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
