Christmas movies are a key component of the holiday season, and for most of us, it's been that way for as long as we can remember.

Claymation versions of Santa and his reindeer or montages of Will Ferrell skipping around NYC set to Christmas music have been integral parts of our Christmas experiences.

And even if we didn't realize it, watching these children's movies over and over again each holiday season, we learned life lessons that we carried into adulthood.

1. Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer

Never be ashamed of what makes you different, because that's what makes you stand out.

Anything can be beautiful if you just show it a little love.

3. Frosty The Snowman

Sometimes the people we love have to go away, but it doesn't mean we love them any less.

Everyone deserves a day off at some point...even Santa Claus.

Anyone can have a change of heart.

Family isn't always perfect, but it is one of the best parts of life.
