I've recently gotten into watching YouTube videos, especially not being in school due to winter break and not having a job to occupy my time. So, I turned to that little white play button and spent countless hours staying up way past my usual bedtime binge watching videos on YouTube and appreciating the dedication these content creators have and the amount of time they take to produce these videos.
There are countless videos to choose from. From make-up, travels, family and comedy. The possibilities are endless. The content is great (for the most part). You can get sucked in for hours living your life vicariously through the YouTube stars. In a world with shitty Jake Paul videos, these are the YouTubers that we deserve.
1. Jackie Aina
The queen of makeup, Jackie Aina, or known to her fans as Auntie Jackie has 1.8 million subscribers, she always comes through with the makeup looks, has somehow stayed grounded through all the fame, and has a makeup line. Which other beauty guru/ influencer could do that?
2. Jamie and Nikki Perkins
Before you go any further reading this article, go check out this couple. They're a young married couple living in Australia with a 1-year-old daughter and another on the way. 'Couple goals' doesn't even begin to describe them. Their channel has 1.3 million subscribers, and gaining even more.
3. David Dobrik
The king of clickbait. David has approximately 5.8 million subscribers on his vlog channel. He is known for pranking his friends, and surprising them with different animals. If you ever need a laugh, he's definitely one to check out.
4. The Planet D
Dave and Deb have been traveling the world for years getting into all kinds of crazy adventures, and exploring every nook and cranny of the world. If you're like me and wish to travel the world but can't because of money or life, this channel is the one for you.
5. FunForLouis
Another travel channel that I recently came across. Louis travels the world too, his vlogs often capture the aesthetic of each place he goes to, and leaves subscribers wanting more.
6. Thomas Heaton
There's an abundance of photography tutorials, but Heaton's standout because of his level of creativity, high quality productions, and his friendly demeanor. If you're trying your hand at photography, Heaton is the man to look up to.
7. Joey Kidney
My second favorite person from Canada. Joey Kidney is a youtuber with 566k subscribers who seemingly deserves more for his authentic videos. Every time I watch his videos it feels like I'm talking to a friend, and that's what we need more of, raw, real emotions.
8. Cut
My forever guilty pleasure is binge-watching "Cut" videos while my responsibilities pile up. Cut is a channel that has everything for everyone, they use ordinary people in their videos which makes it better than channels like BuzzfeedBlue.
9. Vogue
What more could you ask for than watching your favorite celebrities answer seventy-three questions at super speed?
10. SoulPancake
Another youtube channel for the people. All if not majority of the videos revolve around regular people, their lives. Kind of like food for the soul, but instead videos instead of food.
11. Jessica Kobeissi
Jessica's photography tutorials and tips are those videos I binge watch when I'm feeling creative and want to put my camera to use.
