Maybe I have been single for a while, or maybe I am crazy, but 2017 is terrible for relationships. With the new "breadcrumbing" trend, I might swear off dating forever and become a nun. We all know that would never happen, but I might need a therapist to get through it all. Is it bad that I miss ghosting?
1. No one has titles.
I am 100% guilty of this and I hate it. Commitment is terrifying and I would rather throw myself out of a moving vehicle.
2. Too many DM's to slide into.
Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat, even Facebook messages have become "normal" ways of hitting on people. I cannot keep up.
3. Everyone wants to be #goals
Guilty. Everyone wants people to see how #blessed they are with their significant others, but real life is not like that.
4. Breadcrumbing.
I saw this term on Twitter the other day and it is worse than ghosting. Apparently, it is when you just keep stringing a guy along. At least with ghosting you just let them go. I would rather be let go than putting in the effort if the relationship has no chance of progressing. #BringBackGhosting
5. You always have to look presentable.
Maybe I just hate putting in the effort to look decent going out or going to class, but the best thing about a relationship is that you have an excuse to look like a mess.
6. Online dating is terrifying.
Tinder is all fun and games until you try to meet them and find out they are not who they say they are. Catfishing is real.
7. Stalking is too easy.
I can find out every detail about their life if I go through their social media. Why would I study for exams if I can go through my crush's Instagram and stalk his ex-ex-girlfriend?
8. Creepy old men.
If you need a great confidence boost, this might be a great idea. Take the age limit off Tinder and you will get super liked by every man over the age of 30.
9. People have started going straight to old married couples.
If you get lucky enough to get in a relationship, it always ends with the person never going out and always wanting to stay in with their new boy toy.
10. Parents always have an opinion.
Maybe this only applies to me, but my parents are heavily involved in my life. They always have an opinion on who I should date and take every opportunity to voice their opinions.
11. They aren't Channing Tatum.
He will always be my 1 true love.
