You might have heard the name Soairse Ronan from this year's list of Oscar nominees, but did you know that she's actually the most perfect human being around? Bet you didn't, but that's okay because we're here to show you just what makes her so fabulous.

1. She's an amazing, accomplished actress.

Ronan began acting in 2003, and starred alongside Kiera Knightly in the 2007 film Atonement. Since then, she’s landed a great deal of big roles, including the movies The Lovely Bones, The Host, and The Grand Budapest Hotel. Now, she is nominated for Best Actress in the 88th Academy Awards for her role of Eilis in Brooklyn, a huge feat for a 21-year-old actress.

2. Despite her fame, she remains humble.

In one famous quote, she states, “I don’t mind doing the whole red carpet thing when I have to when it comes to publicizing a movie. But besides that, I don’t like those kinds of things at all. Celebrity status is not really something that appeals to me.”

3. She loves her mom.

This gal knows where her real priorities lie. ::awwwww::

4. She chooses her roles carefully.

The end result of this is a filmography of exemplary characters worthy of her acting genius. Says Ronan, “I think it’s important to wait for the right role. It’s hard to have that balance between steady work, if you’re lucky enough to have it, and waiting for the right stuff to come along.” But it's totally worth it waiting for the right films that she can really be proud of.

5. She has the most beautiful eyes on this planet.

Or any other, for that matter. Anyone else, like, super jealous?

6. She’s all for the breaking of gender stereotypes.

“There are very stereotypical roles out there for women but I think it is starting to change with things like Girls and SNL as women are such a huge part of that force. I think there’s so many of us that we need to make a change and push for more interesting female roles.”

But that's none of my business…

7. She’s basically a rap goddess.

Maybe one day she'll drop a hit single, but for now she'll be sticking with goofy covers. How can you not love this gal?

8. She’s very patient with the constant mispronunciations of her name.

All you unusual-namers out there will know how hard it is to smile and keep making the same corrections over and over again, but she does so gracefully.

9. She’s drop-dead gorgeous and she knows how to dress cute and classy.

I know it, you know it, even Eddy Redmayne knows it.

10. She's got some solid life goals.

Same, Saoirse, same.

11. She gets scared for big scenes and interviews.

We all have our moments of extreme nervousness, even actors. After all, the best celebrities are the ones who are #relatable, am I right?

Basically, the world better be ready for the awesomeness that is Saoirse Ronan, because this girl isn't going anywhere.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
