I know sooo many people are against Valentine's Day and the whole "capitalistic card industry" and "chocolates" and "needing a partner" blah, blah, blah.

If you know me then you know I'd be really offended if these were your views.

Maybe, suddenly, you've had a change of heart and decided to give valentines to all your favorite people and feel all warm and fuzzy from the love.

If that's the case, then check out my list of valentine's gifts you can get within the week and delivered just as quick.

1. Flamethrower

When I first saw this flamethrower thing, I thought it was a joke. It's not. They've all been preordered but you could tell someone you entertained the idea of purchasing them one. Or maybe just print out the picture of it? Plus, nothing says love like fire being sprayed at you.

2. A box of those valentines you'd give to your elementary class

Remember when you made those little mailboxes and you had to give a valentine to everyone in your class including that boy in the corner who was so annoying and kinda smelled weird?? Ugh, classic.

3. Fuzzy socks

Bonus points if they have cute little animals on them like these!! And click here to order yours now to make sure they make it to your person's place before the day!!

4. A chipotle coupon

Now that's just wonderful of you to do. Good work.

5. At least $3 sent to their Venmo account

What's better than real money? Electronic money. Show someone you care by sending at least $3 to their account. We all know you can last 1 day without the regular Dunkin'.

6. Making someone Annie's mac and cheese for dinner/snack/any time of the day really

This sounds wonderful to me (cough cough friends cough)!! What a nice way to spend time together!!

7. An expired coupon book

You tried, you know?

8. Make them a "boyfriend" pillow

Or whomever they prefer. What a great way to show you care - through a homemade gift!!

9. A trip to the dog park

It's not Paris or any tropical island, but it's good enough.

10. Frozen pizza

It's almost as good as a fresh pizza. Kinda.

11. Roses sent to them the day after Valentine's Day

Again, you tried. It's really the thought that counts and I'm sure the person who gets them will be happy you were thinking of them!!

However you spend the day, just show appreciation toward something or anything! Make a donation to your favorite charity or cause, call your mom or your senators, give someone a hug. Doesn't matter what you do, just make the world a better place.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
