The movie "V For Vendetta" is an action movie that came out in 2006. It takes place in a futuristic landscape and depicts a totalitarian Britain. It follows the story of a young woman named Evey who got rescued by a vigilante known only as "V."

V urges his fellow citizens to rise up against the tyranny and oppression that they all face. V wishes to bring freedom and justice back to a society that has only known cruelty and corruption. Looking at this some may see parallels found throughout history. Here are ten truths found in "V For Vendetta."

1. "We are told to remember the idea, not the man, because a man can fail. He can be caught, he can be killed and forgotten, but 400 years later, an idea can change the world."

If that isn't true I don't know what is. Most people remember the thoughts and actions but not always the people who delivered them.

2. "Since mankind's dawn, a handful of oppressors have accepted the responsibility over our lives that we should have accepted for ourselves. By doing so, they took our power. By doing nothing, we gave it away."

Throughout time we, a society, have always had to deal with oppression in some way. Whether it be because of gender, race, religion, etc. we have seen what it can do. We need to stop letting them do this to us because V is right, if we do nothing then nothing will change.

3. "Ideas are bulletproof."

If you spread your ideas, your thoughts, your beliefs, they will never truly be destroyed because they will have been heard and witnessed by others who can do the same as you.

4. But again, truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty you need only look into a mirror."

We are all guilty of something, that is a fact. We have all done something that we are not proud of and we are all guilty for how society is today. Our elders shaped our civilization into what it is today and it is up to us to change it for the better.

5. "Our integrity sells for so little, but it is all we really have. It is the very last inch of us. But within that inch we are free."

I think that one speaks for itself. In the end, all we have is our morals and character. Without them we are nothing.

6. "Is it meaningless to apologize?" "Never."

No matter what the situation, if you did wrong or hurt someone, the only way to begin to make amends is to apologize. Even if it seems meaningless to you, it could be everything to them.

7. "People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people."

The people have the power to create change. We can make waves in ways that no one else can. It is up to us to shape our society into what we want and need it to be. With our voice we can do anything.

8. "When injustice becomes law rebellion becomes duty."

You must do whatever is necessary to make justice possible, even if it means rebelling a little bit because in the long run you will be making life better for those unable to stand up for themselves.

9. "It costs nothing to speak out, but remaining silent could cost everything."

We were given the gift of free speech, if we don't use it then nothing will be done and things will get worse than they are. If you don't speak up about what is wrong with society then nothing will ever change.

10. "Artists use lies to tell the truth, while politicians use them to cover up the truth."

There is a reason that everyone calls politicians liars, it's because they are. They hide the truth from us so that we stay ignorant of what is truly going on. Today the use of fake news helps keep the truth hidden under the agenda's and lies of the government and it needs to be stopped.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
