Derek and Meredith are the ultimate love story. A love so astonishingly written, that Shonda Rhimes should be praised for doing such a good job. Not only did she create one of the best love stories of all time, she made us fall madly in love with McDreamy. His hair, his smile, his eyes–the list goes on. After re-watching the series for the second time, I came to find that his words are the ultimate reason why everybody seems to fall for him.
1. “It’s a beautiful day to save lives.”
The epitome of the entire show, McDreamy can be caught saying this in just about every episode.
2. “You were like coming up for fresh air. It’s like I was drowning and you saved me.”
Throughout the show, Derek gives so many amazing reasons as to why he needs Meredith in his life.
3. “I have a thing for ferryboats.”
One of the cutest characteristics about him.
4. “I promised I wouldn’t run. I promised I would love you. Even when I hate you.”
“To love each other even when we hate each other…no running. Ever. Nobody walks out no matter what happens. And to take care of each other when we’re old, senile, and smelly. This is forever.” The only two people in the world that could make putting their vows on a "post-it" romantic.
5. “I don't want 48 uninterrupted hours. I want a lifetime.”
His profession of love to Meredith never gets old.
6. “The first time I kissed my wife, she wasn’t my wife then, she was just this girl in a bar. But when we kissed, it was like I’d never kissed any other woman before. It was like my first kiss. The right kiss.”
He always has the best things to say about Meredith.
7. “I was drunk, vulnerable, and good looking and you took advantage.”
Meredith: "Okay I was the one who was drunk, and you are not that good looking."

Even in the scariest of moments, Derek always knows what to say.
