Music. It has the power to completely change a person, consume them, and take over the way they think and feel. Often some of our best memories have a song attached to them. Music is a sense of therapy. There is something so special about the power to break out in song and forget about all of the little issues and thoughts that so frequently consume a person. So the next time you are feeling down and need a little pick me up, or even just for a small study break; pull up this 2000’s pop music playlist, grab your best friends and sing the crap out of these songs. I promise there will be nothing more satisfying.

1. Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus

There is no greater song to start off. This is one that everyone knows the words to and I have yet to hear someone say that they don't like it. It brings the mood of everyone up, and sets the stage for the memorable jam session you are about to have. It even makes you feel a little bit patriotic even though there is hardly anything patriotic about it.

2. Since you been Gone by Kelly Clarkson

Going through a break up? Went through a break up? Just need a song where you can pour your heart out, and scream at the top of your lungs? Well Kelly is your gal. And with all of your best friends screaming it with you, there really is nothing better to make you feel better about yourself and moving on. After all Since they've been gone you can breath for the first time, and now you’re moving on.

3. Kiss Me Thru the Phone- Soulja Boy

** Cue the bad dance moves and try to bring out your inner hip hop/ rapper self. Will you look ridiculous? Probably. But that is where all of the fun comes in!

4. The Climb- Miley Cyrus

No one will hit the high note, no one ever does. But should that stop anyone from trying? Absolutely not. It may not sound pretty but it sure as heck is one of the best songs to jam to when you are in the feels about life. Give it five minutes, after you will really conclude feeling inspired about life.

5. I knew you Were Trouble -Taylor Swift

Still not over the boy from before? Or still just want to scream a song out at the top of your lungs? Well that’s okay heres another perfect song to let all of you feelings out. Get mad, and don’t forget to all harmoniously scream the sporadic “AH’s” in the middle of the song.

6. Love Story- Taylor Swift

Heres a good one for a change of pace. This is the song that has had just about every girl dreaming about the person they are going to marry since the age of about 13. So imagine yourself as the princess in the music video and live out a four minute “fairy tale” love story.

7. You don't know your beautiful- One Direction

Sing it loud and sing it proud. After all you are singing yourself the truth.

8. Love Me- Justin Bieber

It was never too overplayed, and it still has the sweet baby Justin voice we all secretly still love. Enough Said.

9. Whatcha Say-Jason Derulo

Throw it way back to your awkward middle school dances, cause why not?

10. How to Save a Life- The Fray

Embrace your inner grey’s anatomy fan loving self and let it shine. Even if this is the song that is always played after your heart is ripped out and chucked at a fan, it is one you come to love. Trust me you will love it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
