1. Know your AJGA facts

The American Junior Golf Association is known for providing their interns with all the necessary knowledge to succeed, but it can be impressive to have your fun facts packed down before arrival. Study up on the mission statement and AJGA quick facts!

2. Networking is Key

Don't be afraid to introduce yourself to the AJGA Staff members. They've all been in your shoes at IRW and are there to help ease the process and answer any questions you may have. Talk to the staff and make a memorable impression on them- they're the ones looking to hire you.

3. Take Notes

From guest speakers from the industry, to the staff you're surrounded by all weekend, everyone is constantly spewing knowledge. Not only advice for the internship, but lifelong advice you can take to any career. Taking notes can help you remember all the information, and help you recall who said what for those important thank you cards!

4. It's Okay Not to be a Golf Expert

The AJGA prides in teaching it's interns all they need to know about the game of junior golf. Don't stress if you don't have a strong background in golf! It doesn't hurt to dive into the rules of the sport before heading down, but known that you're not the only one who hasn't been on a course before.

5. Be Yourself

Although it is a weekend long job interview, just be yourself. The staff want top get to know you for you and see your potential. Don't be afraid to be creative, funny, outspoken and professional to show your true colors.

6. Let Your Fun Flag Fly

As professional the Intern Recruiting Weekend is, it's three days of straight fun. Through group work, team building activities, networking, and games you'll never find yourself bored. The staff and itenerary keep you busy and entertained at all times.

7. Leave Extra Room in that Suitcase

From a welcome goodie bag, to winning challenges, to airport shopping- make sure to leave a little extra room in your suitcase to get your souvenirs home. 8. Send the Thank You Notes

The AJGA staff and sport industry speakers took the time to be at headquarters to train, interview, and interact with you as a potential intern. Taking the time to hand-write a thank you note to each individual who impacted you over the weekend can go a long way. Get personal and send your final remarks to all of the incredible staff who helped make Intern Recruiting Weekend an amazing experience.

9. Get Ready to Make Lifelong Friends

A weekend may not seem like a long time- but once you spend countless hours straight with the same group of intern candidates then you start feeling like a family. When Sunday departure comes, and the good-byes are being said, you're going to wish there were more days in a weekend.

10. Getting a Position or Not- You're a winner

Throughout the abundance of applications, only a small fraction are invited to IRW. Whether you get a position as in intern with the AJGA or not, you should be proud to have been invited to participate in the weekend and hopefully have amazing stories to tell of the experience.
