Having a group of female friends is so nice and I feel extremely blessed to have mine. But there are times when a girl just needs to have a guy around. There are certain things to love about him and sometimes having the girls around just isn't the same. He is so patient and so amazing. There are so many great things that come with having a guy best friend.

1. A great listener

Guys are really great at hearing you out and taking what you say seriously. Girls do that, too, but guy best friends just seem to know when to be quiet.

2. A man's opinion

When it comes to getting advice on boys and boy problems, there is nothing better than getting that from a guy. They know how their brains work and they have your heart in mind when telling you what's up.

3. Honesty

With guys, there's no sugarcoating. They have every intention of being honest and to the point. When you ask for their opinion, know you're getting the truth, no matter how brutal.

4. A fake boyfriend

if the guy who slid into your DMs is acting weird, you can tell him you have a boyfriend even when you don't as long as you have a guy best friend. And he'll probably do a really great job.

5. Someone who laughs at your bad jokes

This specifically applies to any dirty or dry jokes. If you're a girl with a kind of boyish humor, you love having a guy best friend to crack jokes with.

6. A bigger appetite than yours

Guys are known to eat far more than girls. It's awesome because when you get food, you can eat a lot and not feel bad for it. Also, there is a much better chance of getting food, because he's always hungry.

7. A broader shoulder to cry on

When you're upset, having a guy's shoulder to cry on is great. You feel safe and guarded even as an emotional wreck.

8. An example of the perfect guy

A guy best friend is the supportive brother you may not have. They care about you and our safety. They're looking out for you and your heart.

10. Great hugs


This is by far the best benefit of having a guy best friend. They give the best hugs. They have bigger, stronger arms for maximum quality.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
