These 10 songs are, and always will be, my favorite songs to have on repeat.
Everybody Wants To Rule The World - Tears For Fears
Hands down my favorite song, ever! You'll always catch me staring out the window on a long car ride listening to this song while in deep thought. An absolute classic with a strong meaning centered around a lust for power and the consequences that come as a result, it's definitely worth a listen!
I Hear The Day Has Come - Matt Maltese
If I want to cry, this right here is the song I play. If you're a little too emotional like me, the melancholic piano playing paired with the voice of Matt Maltese is the ultimate tear-jerker. There's so much raw emotion in not just this song but his other songs as well. I can just imagine listening to this while laying in a grass field, staring up at the sky, tears falling down my face. Okay, that might sound a little sad but I promise this song is worth the tears!
Drowsy - Banes World
I was first introduced to the indie/alternative genre in middle school and it's since then become my absolute favorite music genre! This indie/dream pop song was recommended to me by a friend and ever since then, I've been obsessed. I can't help but to close my eyes and relax while listening to the chill, mellow and dreamy melody of this song. 100% recommend adding this gem to your playlist.
Goodie Bag - Still Woozy
This artist has never come out with a bad song and will never come out with a bad song. You can quote me on that. The first time I heard this song I knew it would be on repeat until I got tired of it, but fast forward two years later and I am still very much not tired of it. Every song released by this artist follows a similar groovy, melodic vibe and is so catchy you can't help but to listen to them over and over. I would say this music genre could be indie, funk or pop but others could say differently. Either way, his music is such a creative infusion of different rhythms, beats and vocals, give it a listen!
Bags - Clairo
Definitely going down as one of my top five favorite songs of all time, I will never get tired of this song. This song is my go-to on a rainy day, homework session or just for a walk outside. Clairo, an indie/alternative music artist, has so many great songs that I love but this one definitely resonates with me the most.
The List - Moonchild
If I could sum up this song in one word: beautiful. It's an R&B/soul track that talks about the feelings and thoughts that come with missing someone romantically, which I know a lot of us can relate to, sadly. The artist has such a heavenly voice and the overall vibe of the song is just perfect, need I say more?
The Less I Know The Better - Tame Impala
Alright, I'm pretty sure everyone has heard this song at least once in their life, whether that be finding it on your own, hearing it in a video, at a festival or just being recommended to it by a friend. If you haven't already been introduced to it, it's a funky disco-pop song that you HAVE to get up and dance to while you're alone in your room, sorry I don't make the rules. You truly can't go wrong with the psychedelic pop music of Tame Impala.
505 - Arctic Monkeys
Gotta thank my middle school classmates for this one. All of us who had a grunge phase in our lives can relate to having an unhealthy obsession with the Arctic Monkeys and not completely getting over it. This is a song you listen to once during that phase and then have to listen to for the rest of your life. Please, go listen to 2:25-2:50 and you'll understand what I mean when I say that.
Over The Moon - The Marías
Surprise! Another alternative/indie song. Anytime someone asks me for song recommendations, this one is at the top of the list. It's such a dreamy and beautiful song and is perfect to fall asleep to. Go on, add it to your playlist right now!
All My Friends - Madeon
I had to add one EDM song to this list and it had to be this one! I was introduced to this artist in 2019 and immediately, I was hooked. This song became my most played song on Spotify in 2019 and he quickly became my favorite EDM artist! I never had an interest in EDM before listening to this song so it was very surprising to me how much of a fan I became. If you're looking into this music genre I completely recommend adding this song to your list!
