10 Reasons To Be Happy

With all of the bad things going on in the world, I think now would be a good time to show people that even though there might be bad things going on, there are still many reasons to be happy.

1. Friends

Having good friends is one of the best things in the world, and they always know how to make you feel better. So if you are feeling down, remember that you have amazing friends who only want the best for you.

2. Music

Whether it's going to a concert or listening to your favorite songs, music has a way to instantly make you feel better.

3. Jobs

I know that not everyone likes their jobs, but you should be happy that you have a job. Not everyone is lucky enough to have a job, so if you do have a job, and don't necessarily like it, be happy that you have one because you are making money to support yourself and others.

4. Volunteering

There are so many different ways and things that you can volunteer for. You can reach out to your community, go on a mission trip, or just simply help a neighbor out. Helping other people out is one of the easiest and most rewarding thing to do. This is a great way to be happy and fee like you've made an impact on something.

5. Food

I know this might seem ridiculous, but I mean what makes you happier than pizza or french fries? We get to eat three fresh meals a day, and get to eat whenever we want. Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to do this, so appreciate the fact that we have great access to such amazing foods!

6. The weather

I love seeing the changes of the seasons and I especially love warm weather. When it's the middle of winter and the sun decides to come out after a week of hiding, it always makes me feel happy. There are so many different ways to enjoy the weather and that's why I think that it can make people happy.

7. Education

No matter what type of education you have, you should be thankful that you have it. If you are able to go onto college and grad school, you should be happy that you get to further your knowledge. Getting to learn more about certain subjects I like, always makes me happy.

8. The little things

Appreciating the little things in life like having a good day or catching a rerun of your favorite TV show, can really make a person feel happy. You just have to notice the little things and they can turn your entire day around.

9. Love

Being in love or having so many people to love is one of the things that makes me the most happy.

10. Family

For me, one of the things that makes me the most happy, is my family. Feeling loved and having so much support from so many different people in your family is such a great feeling. Spending time with family can always turn my day around.

I hope these 10 things will make you realize that you have so many different things to be happy about!

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

Creating your schedule for the upcoming semester can be an exciting process. You have the control to decide if you want to have class two-days a week or five-days a week. You get to check things off of your requirement checklist. It's an opportunity for a fresh start with new classes (which you tell yourself you'll never skip.) This process, which always starts out so optimistic, can get frustrating really quickly. Here are 25 thoughts you have when registering for classes.

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
